Bumble leaving Sky

not usually my scene, but I agree with parts of this, clearly eased out, no coincidence

Been in cricket for 50 years man, never put a foot wrong, we seem to have lost the inability to talk about issues openly, feels like people just waiting for someone to make a mistake, then its a "gotcha" look at how bad he is. then that cricket podcast grassing up like a bloody schoolboy or someit.

Not said much on the Yorkshire issue, but I think the DCMS hearing was a big mistake, just ended up with people getting called out with no right to reply, Bumble being one of them. I dont see how that is fair. Its like having a trial and stopping after the prosecution rests it case.

Clearly unacceptable things have gone on at Yorkshire, but politicians got on board and the ECB never got to conduct their enquiry.

Very uncomfortable with how it ended up personally.

On the other hand he's been missing games for a rest for a year or two, he's in his early 70s, I can easily see that he's decided he's tired of the travel and stays in hotels. I don't think we'll ever really know how much of column A and how much of column B is influencing the decision but I'm not surprised at the angle of a Daily Mail column.

possibly aye

he is good mates with paul newman though and writes for the mail himself, youd think they'd know

Gower as eloquent on this issue as he was through the covers.

I'm amazed anyone can disagree with a word of this personally.

There's a reason DCMS got involved. Nobody had any faith in the ECB or Yorkshire managing this themselves.

Lloyd has given his reasons for retiring: he's 74 and he just doesn't find the commentary box as fun without his old pals.

I'm amazed you can't see Gower as anything but an out of touch boomer who is still bitter about losing his lucrative commentary job.

Bumble is a good guy with no malice. Instead his life is being painted to be a man who was not accepting of people from other cultures. It’s really sad how decent people are being demonised for an historical statement. If historical statements count, then Rafiq is equally guilty.
