Northern trains

Anyone on the 17-58 Ipswich to Peterborough next Saturday, just had an email saying its cancelled and to jump on the next available train.
We are booked on that train but never had any notification. You can still book. Who are you booked with?

Got my usual awful replies from
Northern. Zero interest in the complaint, clearly a copy and paste response. Awful company

The performance of the rail companies in the NE was discussed at the last Sunderland Trades Council and Graeme Morris seemed to be the best bet.

The new Boro to London direct service - has that just been conjured up out of nowhere because of the HS2 fiasco or was it already planned?

Years in the making, service started this week I believe. My worry is it could impact on the Grand Central from Sunderland to London, similar to the airport situation, are there enough travellers to make 2 services viable? will those who get on at Eaglescliffe, Northallerton etc, now go to Boro, only time will tell.

I encourage people to share their stories with me at [email protected] I will raise cases in Parliament

Noticed when standing on the platform at Horden on Saturday that the Whitby train had 4 carriages, why is that? no doubt the posh customers between Nunthorpe and Whitby wouldn't put up with the shi*te service us East Durham plebs have to.

They'd probably kill for the service that the Durham Coast line has. I think there's only about five trains a day on the Whitby line.

I once looked at trying to watch a Whitby home game. The last arrival before kick off gets in before midday, and the first train after the game is 19.42. And even that only goes as far as Middlesbrough. The only way I can get there on public transport from Birmingham is to go to Middlesbro, Saltburn or Scarborough then get a bus.
