A question for all non-Sunderland fans on here

Its hardly an over inflated opinion to expect such as Sunderland to be in a higher league than they inhabit is it Cridge?
lets be honest most of us have an over inflated opinion of where our respective clubs should be...all dependant on the current position.
The "Grand" scheme of things doesn't mean jacksh*t to me, nor do i think it does to most supporters of most clubs.
Fans will defend their clubs,
If I go on another clubs forum I always respect the club
I honestly came on here cos I thought sunderland fans deserved a little more respect than some others, cos those "others" rarely sold the away end out at our place when they were crap
All you have when you are down here is pride in your support, I'm proud Wednesday had nmore fans down at Crewe than Crewe did today...I'm proud Wednesday took 1500 down to Pompey on a miserable midweek game live on Sky
Because the club is not simply about the team on the pitch, its the whole institution
So a club like Sunderland that gets 30'000 at home against any club in this league?
Yea....its why I signed onto this forum...Cos its very similar to us...and if you were bluntly honest...Very similar to Villa in a lot of respects
Their over inflated opinions stemmed from the Bent transfer. Dig it out if you can be bothered. Their arrogance was unbelievable-Something they love to throw at other teams.

Seriously can't be bothered to dig it out mate.....Cos it would be no different from any thread, from any supporter, of any club
But when you take the litmus paper test of any club that has suffered like Sunderland, like Wednesday and Like Villa did and still maintain the crowds the away followings and the passion?
I'd give 'em a pass...cos there are very few big clubs that have been through that test

I thought the thread asking about what players Villa can take from Sunderland, as he prematurely danced on our relegation grave, was one of @Cridge 's finest moments.
And here we are now and you don’t have any players worth looking at. Still, you enjoyed your day in the sun didn’t you? So much that you’re still dining out on it without the slightest inkling of irony.

Always looking for a petty squabble. Take a bit of time being less po-faced and actually take it in the humour it's intended.

It wasn't a dig at you. I cannot remember it being mentioned. But being so cataclysmically wrong is on a par with Defoe being a terrible signing, Britian being bottlers at the London Olympics, and Jimmy Anderson being finished. They don't get forgotten.

Take it as a badge of honour.

Yet my post couldn’t have been taken in humour? It wasn’t wrong at all. The post was made with about 3 games left with you still needing points to survive. Villa didn’t get relegated until the following season (and yourselves the season after).

Dont have a problem with other supporters coming on here as long as they are respectful (Swindon on Tour and the SW lad spring to mind), and they have something to add to discussion. What I can't stand is the bus load of Gravy stained melts pretending to be something or somebody else, makes my piss boil.
Not sure why the gaffer doesn’t just ban the boring fuckers to be honest.

Hi. Pleased to see I have (yet) another stalker.

In answer to the question, I came on here after a link was posted on a Villa forum when we signed Bent. It was a hilarious thread as the penny slowly dropped for you guys that he was leaving you.

I thought you all had an extremely over inflated opinion of where your club is in the grand scheme of things so began posting.
Pot, kettle

Didn't realise there were so many non-safc fans on here.

I wonder how many will be left after half of them get banned for scrapping on this thread. 🤔

Astounding that a man child that supports a club that is located in an annex of Mogadishu can criticise any other club. Villa basking in the glory of the early 80’s and recently near administration. Cridge is just a WUM no doubt tells his associates that he has a fantastic girlfriend as well when in reality it is Rosie Palmer his five digit friend.

I'm a bit of a fans forum snooper tbh, mainly because I'm a sad middle aged man with bugger all else to do on an evening when the missus and kids are in bed !
Started coming on when we started playing a few years ago obviously. Yours I'd say is busy, definitely entertaining and very easy to read and follow, unlike some clubs who don't even seem to have forums.
Ive actually worked quite often for years with a father and son who are from Sunderland and are big supporters, top lads and we always have a chat about the Football, and we met up for a beer the first time you came down.
Once again I'm with the Swindon lad ! "Stand up if you hate Oxford"

I have this soft spot (a small one) for Sunderland and It started when we all used to watch the cup final from Wembley way before money took over the game and I saw Bob Stokoe run on the pitch with his hat and coat in 1973, thought that was a great day and since then I look for your results. Don’t get me wrong I want Oxford to win everything inc games against you but other than that it’s you and Oldhams scores I look for.

Thanks mate. We made a lot of friends that day .

I agree.
And as someone who is interested in attendances I must point out that when Coventry clinched promotion to the top flight for the first time they had a staggering crowd of over 50000.
I am aware that we played them in the cup back in the sixties when Coventry were in the
third tier. We lost to two late goals ; 43000 were in Highfield Road that night.
As a third division club Coventry were drawing crowds the envy of most clubs in the top two divisions.
I believe Coventry were the first club with an all seater stadium. It backfired in spectacular fashion as gates dropped below 10000 but then football was not popular in the early eighties and the days of Jimmy Hill ( oops I swore there ) riding on a horse into Highfield Road with fill riding regalia were but a distant memory as indeed were the car plants and machine tool factories that made the city a post war boom city.
I digress. Too much ale tonight.
If you’re old enough to remember those games you must be about the same vintage as me. I was at the cup game, think it was about 63’ and also in the 51,000 v Wolves in 67’, our record attendance. They were great days, hope you enjoyed the ale 🍺

6 pages in and no mention of @Scorefrom a throw in the🌟 poster of the daily TV thread, totally changed my view on Stoke fans, same goes for that knacker @Cridge but in a totally different way as he has turned me off Villa, used to quite like them now the only game I want them to win is against the Mags, well done fella🙄
Hahahaha, cheers pal. All thanks to @HnTch who I met at Stoke about 11 years years ago as I gave him some pointers about where to park and places to eat around and nearby the ground and the rest is history... Like yourself and your lad, met some fantastic people on here and wouldn't change a thing. Hanks telly thread is excellent with quality posters, nice, polite and funny and some top tunes and dog pics, its a pleasure to post on the thread....All the best .... 👍 👍 👍 👍.
