A question for all non-Sunderland fans on here

I'm a fisherman, I had a Labrador, I love birds and wildlife. Your posts have all of that and I find them interesting.

Above all I admire the passion and loyalty you have for your team, after the shite youve had to put up with over the years, and you dont take the piss. 👍

My soul Brother.
Bet we would get on like a house on fire as they say.
You sound like one of my Mates, only difference he is a Leeds fan.

Even as a Sunderland fan, one of the best things about this board is the ability of it to attract and retain proper football supporters from other clubs. Of course there will be the wums who just come on to have a go before our game with them, but the ones who stay to become longtime members and prolific posters are great. It adds to the variety of topics discussed and means we get a bit of insight rather than just living in our own little red and white world.

Bristol City, Man Utd, Palace, WBA, Wolves, Man City, Leicester, Derby, Everton, Brighton, Wednesday, Charlton, all have posters on here who are always worth a read and that’s just off the top of my head.

As most may already know.
I first posted on this message board when Di Canio decided he wanted out of Swindon and came to Sunderland. At the time genuinely gutted but felt compelled to give you a real insight into what you were getting.

The NE also happens to be my favourite footballing region, mainly because of the people like myself are not wired up properly and have a real passion (that being the optimum word) when Supporting their respective clubs. I have always enjoyed visiting the Region, people are excellent and love the history, the togetherness and the pride. Notwithstanding I have spent many weekends both as a single lad and married man drinking and going out in the NE.

I could never imagine staying on this board as long as I have, absolutely love the place and an honest confession I only post on this board apart from the Swindon boards. Even then probably 90% of time on here.
I guess you have become “friends” and will always gain respect from me. No brown nosing but I always try and behave accordingly as the uninvited guest.

Unfortunately and equally it brings out the worst in me as I know most don’t want to hear who Swindon have in the FA Cup, or where our journey takes us this Saturday. This is where though I belong as you proclaim, quite righty and often that “you are the best fans in the Country” and I am very much in this loyalty camp. My close friends and people know I have a rather obsessive nature regarding the mighty Swindon.
The board itself has everything, miserable bastards, kindness of the highest nature but above all people that are simply going through everyday life facing the same challenges and difficulties. That alone is worth sharing and if it helps others then it can only be a good thing.
It’s been emotional, the legacy of Maximus and Foggy to name two that I felt were “one of our own” as the football saying goes.

So there you have it, tomorrow just another day and a long train trip to Barrow awaits (better not get postponed).
Some absolute cracking other clubs posters that post on here and if behave are always made welcome. That makes it the special place it is.

@KEV_SAFC_FTM - fair play to you :)
There used to be a Swindon lad used to drink in the town back in the early 70s apart from a strange accent and a lasses name Bev .Was a sound lad had a crack with him a few times about Swindon beating a certain london team at wembley

For me it’s about the crowd favourites at Wolves that were ex Mackems. The likes of Rae Butler Craddock etc. As someone’s mentioned it’s also been about meeting Sunderland lads who left their home town to seek work like myself. I always seemed to get on with them. I’ll be honest this forum has kept me going through the lockdown. There’s some really decent people on here. There’s laugh out loud comments and also genuine caring people
who you feel you have a connection with who just need someone to be kind. The football knowledge on here is top obviously. I’ve never posted on another teams forum and wouldn’t. I’m quite happy to be told to fuck off and I also like it that other fans are made welcome. The Swindon lad being one ( I don’t know how to tag him ) Can say I’ve made a decent long distance friendship as well so all good. Wolfie.

@Swindon On Tour

@South Banker Wolf is a top lad, just know without ever meeting him. Good old boy is Woolfie as we say.
Will be on Wolverhampton station in the Morning on route to Barrow.
West Midlands folk are also the salt of the earth, worked in that region a fair few years back and never let you down. Walsall last Saturday no different.

We still havent had that pint yet Swindon.

I always in general love the post off other fans and their loyalty and passion to their clubs cause .

I’ve had tough year personally with a really bad bereavement and my dads ongoing (losing ) battler with dementia. However , even in my darkest days I’ve popped on here and a smile has been brought to my face. Old
Memories triggered and silly things we have all done down the years . This board to me is like extended family , we dont all get along but also in general we do .

We have all had the odd ban but we all return.

Keep the faith.

All of our clubs till we die.

Sorry to hear that Mate and life is never easy.
Always storms around the corner and so often we have to dig deep into our reserves to get by. Would always have a beer with you and so many on here 🍺. This Board is incredible sometimes the way some support others.
In all honesty escaped a bullet last season coming up to Sunderland as the club was dying, the scum bag taking everything before he was forced out.
If only it was now as we all feel liberated and grateful that it never died, well not for now.
You also keep the faith mate, you are a character and take that as a real compliment my friend 👍

As ever top post Swindon lad.

Thanks for the compliment .

What makes you contribute to this board? I mean, we are Sunderland not Real Madrid.

I can understand Newcastle and maybe Boro fans getting on here, but there’s loads of other teams represented with posters who frequently contribute (Swindon, Wolves, Sheff Wed, West Brom, Villa to name but a few).

No issues about it whatsoever but just genuinely interested in what brings you here. It does create some diversity although I’ve now got a random interest in bloody Swindon because of it 😂
Stop looking for kudos man 😉

It’s the best footy forum on the net that’s why we get so many other fans in here

I really enjoy football forums, and especially reading our rivals thoughts on the current division we happen to be in at the time. I choose to become a member on here because it's without doubt the best one amongst any league one club.

I've been warmly welcomed by the majority, and I find it much more tolerant than Owlstalk, which is good for me because I can be quite opinionated!! Unfortunately the owner of that site seems more interested in baiting fellow owls if they have a difference of opinion to his and I find it incredibly childish.

i also have to admit I now find myself rooting for Sunderland, unless it's at our expense!! I genuinely hope you lot get promoted.
Drunk on a Friday I choose to think He's right we are f***ing class :)
