A question for all non-Sunderland fans on here

As most may already know.
I first posted on this message board when Di Canio decided he wanted out of Swindon and came to Sunderland. At the time genuinely gutted but felt compelled to give you a real insight into what you were getting.

The NE also happens to be my favourite footballing region, mainly because of the people like myself are not wired up properly and have a real passion (that being the optimum word) when Supporting their respective clubs. I have always enjoyed visiting the Region, people are excellent and love the history, the togetherness and the pride. Notwithstanding I have spent many weekends both as a single lad and married man drinking and going out in the NE.

I could never imagine staying on this board as long as I have, absolutely love the place and an honest confession I only post on this board apart from the Swindon boards. Even then probably 90% of time on here.
I guess you have become “friends” and will always gain respect from me. No brown nosing but I always try and behave accordingly as the uninvited guest.

Unfortunately and equally it brings out the worst in me as I know most don’t want to hear who Swindon have in the FA Cup, or where our journey takes us this Saturday. This is where though I belong as you proclaim, quite righty and often that “you are the best fans in the Country” and I am very much in this loyalty camp. My close friends and people know I have a rather obsessive nature regarding the mighty Swindon.
The board itself has everything, miserable bastards, kindness of the highest nature but above all people that are simply going through everyday life facing the same challenges and difficulties. That alone is worth sharing and if it helps others then it can only be a good thing.
It’s been emotional, the legacy of Maximus and Foggy to name two that I felt were “one of our own” as the football saying goes.

So there you have it, tomorrow just another day and a long train trip to Barrow awaits (better not get postponed).
Some absolute cracking other clubs posters that post on here and if behave are always made welcome. That makes it the special place it is.

@KEV_SAFC_FTM - fair play to you :)
I doubt Keats or Wordsworth could have put it any better
Shakespeare maybe but he’s premier league
😏

Born in Easington and lived in Houghton. Moved down to Warwickshire as a nipper and started to support my local team, Coventry City. My family have all gone now, but all were Sunderland fans. I went to the 73 final with them and had a great day (my birthday was 5th May so an extra present).
My Border, Elvis is crossed with a Pug so his tail curves upwards. A fantastic breed and full of character.
Had a few, but at first I read that as "My Brother , Elvis" ....

What makes you contribute to this board? I mean, we are Sunderland not Real Madrid.

I can understand Newcastle and maybe Boro fans getting on here, but there’s loads of other teams represented with posters who frequently contribute (Swindon, Wolves, Sheff Wed, West Brom, Villa to name but a few).

No issues about it whatsoever but just genuinely interested in what brings you here. It does create some diversity although I’ve now got a random interest in bloody Swindon because of it 😂
Is it not cause it's such a popular board that other clubs supporters contribute to the board ,apart from them up the road the richest klerb in the werld ?

Joined the forum a few years back after the trouble between our fans outside the Ricoh, my aim was to try to diffuse the ill feeling between our clubs and prove that there are some decent Cov fans, we’re not all tramps and w**kers. I enjoy visiting occasionally although not a regular contributor, this is a great forum really enjoy the general football discussions. Like previous posters have said it’s great that fans of other clubs contribute, what we all share is our love of the beautiful game.
I always thought Coventry fans were all tramps and wankers who enjoy beating old ladies up . From yours sincerely UTV

Class mate
I just returned home from a couple weeks working away and the scenes in our house when my mate a little Border Terrier saw me were unbelievable had to lie on floor for 5 mins while she jumped all over me 👍 nice walk tmorra morning can’t wait

Love Borders.

A sort of shared misery brought me here.
Always liked Sunderland anyway, bring a great atmosphere to Hillsborough when they come and I enjoyed trips to Roker in the 70s great old football ground
I much preferred it the SOL but I'm a bit old fashioned anyway
I funnily enough look to see how Swindon are doing since coming on here as well 😆

I really enjoy football forums, and especially reading our rivals thoughts on the current division we happen to be in at the time. I choose to become a member on here because it's without doubt the best one amongst any league one club.

I've been warmly welcomed by the majority, and I find it much more tolerant than Owlstalk, which is good for me because I can be quite opinionated!! Unfortunately the owner of that site seems more interested in baiting fellow owls if they have a difference of opinion to his and I find it incredibly childish.

i also have to admit I now find myself rooting for Sunderland, unless it's at our expense!! I genuinely hope you lot get promoted.
That's very nice of you mate . I've always kept an an eye on Wednesday and United . proper fans proper clubs and ,like us, never been any good for yonks .
@South Banker Wolf is a top lad, just know without ever meeting him. Good old boy is Woolfie as we say.
Will be on Wolverhampton station in the Morning on route to Barrow.
West Midlands folk are also the salt of the earth, worked in that region a fair few years back and never let you down. Walsall last Saturday no different.
Most of my mates in Spain are Baggies as it happens . Nice lads but they can't tark reet .

Nothing yet from @Cridge - his first post was somewhat inflammatory, and a quick check of his profile shows him lurking on here 22 minutes ago....
Hi. Pleased to see I have (yet) another stalker.

In answer to the question, I came on here after a link was posted on a Villa forum when we signed Bent. It was a hilarious thread as the penny slowly dropped for you guys that he was leaving you.

I thought you all had an extremely over inflated opinion of where your club is in the grand scheme of things so began posting.

Beautifully put, Swindon, la.

Its hardly an over inflated opinion to expect such as Sunderland to be in a higher league than they inhabit is it Cridge?
lets be honest most of us have an over inflated opinion of where our respective clubs should be...all dependant on the current position.
The "Grand" scheme of things doesn't mean jacksh*t to me, nor do i think it does to most supporters of most clubs.
Fans will defend their clubs,
If I go on another clubs forum I always respect the club
I honestly came on here cos I thought sunderland fans deserved a little more respect than some others, cos those "others" rarely sold the away end out at our place when they were crap
All you have when you are down here is pride in your support, I'm proud Wednesday had nmore fans down at Crewe than Crewe did today...I'm proud Wednesday took 1500 down to Pompey on a miserable midweek game live on Sky
Because the club is not simply about the team on the pitch, its the whole institution
So a club like Sunderland that gets 30'000 at home against any club in this league?
Yea....its why I signed onto this forum...Cos its very similar to us...and if you were bluntly honest...Very similar to Villa in a lot of respects
