Big drop in the attendance yesterday

Dropped from 31k against Ipswich to 26k yesterday. Yes lots of people skint this time of year and xmas parties and xmas shopping etc but that’s still a hell of a drop. It’s just goes to show the supporters on here who are happy with the way the side are performing at the moment and a critical of those who criticise Johnson are in fact the minority not the other way around. The fans are voting with their feet.
Always suspected the OP had gravy dripping from its chin.

Heaven knows Morrisey is miserable now but I’ve always thought Rod would be good company, could chat about the Faces gig at the Mecca in 1973!
Friday night after the 2-1 semi final win over Arsenal.

Best live band of the day. Rod Stewart. Ronnie Wood. Ronny Lane. Kenny Jones. Ian McLagan.

Mecca was already hyper. Band walk on to stage, Jack Daniels on top of the speakers. First few bars of Stay With Me get played and Rod cuts it short and with the hyped up crowd wondering why he says: “Ladies and Gentlemen, my apologies, I meant to introduce you to a few friends of mine” and on walk Billy Hughes, Bobby Kerr, Dick Malone and Mickey Horswill accompanied by Bobby Knoxall who compered the night-the place went absolutely ballistic and years after the legendary DJ John Peel said of all the gigs he’d attended around the world, no atmosphere had ever come close to The Faces at the Sunderland Mecca that night. They were brilliant. Next day Rod Stewart trained with SAFC having been invited to do so by Billy Hughes.

I was going to say I remember it well but not as well as you! That’s a great summary 👍

What a load of shit, as usual.

Even if you ignore Oxford bringing fewer fans than Ipswich, the match being rearranged about 2 weeks ago on what was meant to be a league free weekend (therefore people will plan to do other things), people being skint in the run up to Christmas, there being news of a new covid variant (which you now have to isolate for 10 days for if you come into contact regardless) etc…

How on earth does 6k out of 31k fewer fans suggest that the fans who are critical of those who are criticising Johnson are a minority and the fans are “voting with their feet”.

6k out of 31k isn’t a majority. Its not even close to a majority.

Absolutely reeks of Bisto this one.

The trend is flat this season. Because we've already lost 10k fans after the multiple relegations and the failure to climb out of this crappy league on our first attempt. I do think the OP may be jumping the gun, but next season, if we fail this time I can see us losing another 3-5000 fans.

The owner (whoever they're are) should consider the January Window, in terms of possible lost revenue next season. If we fail to go up and that equates to at least 3 million quid short next season and is a strong argument to make a modest investment.
