The Beatles - Get back Documentary

Don't think Paul is so much 'pushy' as just trying his best to get something done, as without him there would be bugger all. Can imagine it'd be canny stressful, with only 14 days to do it all in.

He completely treat George like a little brother.

I've only seen the first part so far but what surprised me most is how many fantastic songs they were trying out which didn't actually appear until they started knocking out solo albums. Another Day, All Things Must Pass, Jealous Guy/Child Of Nature, Gimme Some Truth ........ (2 years before Imagine came out!). Add those to Abbey Road and/or Let It Be!?! Mindboggling.

He's by far the most accomplished songwriter and musician at the time(though George was a bit warm then) as they are all that strung out, he ends up almost dragging them to creating Let It Be
Just seen a bit so far. It's absolute class. Real joy to watch.
Isn't it? Feels like you're sitting having a cuppa with a few canny lads but they were the f***ing Beatles

It's absolutely f***ing shit. The acting is poor, the writing is cheesy and it makes hardly any sense. And Ed Sheeran's in it.
Made me quite angry actually. Walked out of the cinema vowing to never watch another Danny Boyle movie again. I expected a bit of lighthearted cheese but not a stupid, stupid film with pathetic inner logic fails, cliched bullshit and a kind of mass misunderstanding about what made the Beatles great.
And yes, Sheeran was horrendous. Kate McKinnon's character even worse.

It's cheesy as fuck like. I don't think it's meant to be serious though, obviously given the silly story and whatnot.

I don't mind it.

Have you seen that horrendous film with all of Springsteen's music in it? It's almost like a British Bruce Springsteen musical.. now that is f***ing shite.

Fuck that. It looks horrible.

so you're saying you didnt like it then? ;)

The people who don't get The Beatles must have no clue about musical history or anything. I can understand the music not being to their taste but to just dismiss is a bit silly really.

Watched the first episode tonight. Enjoyable but having listened to God knows how many bootlegs over the years they can become a bit tedious. The footage looks excellent now but the mismatched audio/video is not done very well. I guess it's good to have a more comprehensive version than the Let It Be movie and nice to show it in a much more positive light.
Opening credits of episode one explains that in parts they have audio only, which they have overlayed over footage.

Chill ya beans, man, it's just a fillum.
I bet you don't like Backbeat either, do ya?

Cluffy's cinematic preferences aside, I can't wait to watch this doc. Always been a Beatles fan, since adopting me ma's collection of LP's with my first record player back in the 70s.

Read somewhere that you can tell someone's age (almost) by who their favourite Beatles is.
In order of maturity: Ringo, Paul, John, George.
I can agree with that, like.

Total class, sat and watched them all back to back.

Loved how you could see songs develop from initial noodling to full blown classic (Get Back). Very interesting to see the dynamics in the group, how John starts very nervous, not wanting to be there, full Heroin addict, to absolutely bouncing off McCartney and recapturing any magic they may have had. Then George getting jealous (You can see it in his face) of their relationship and quitting the band. McCartney trying to hold the band together shows how much disharmony was within the group.

If you can sit the 7 hrs or so it’s well work the watch.

Spoiler alert: They play on the roof top at the end………

I'd have thought Paul and John would be the other way 'round.
