i havent got that far yet, but in the anthology documentary one of them said that during this period when they had a "guest" in the studio (preston or clapton) they could sense everyone was on their best behaviour & all pulling together and working as a band.
Think it was George who mentioned that as he was responsible for getting Clapton in.
People were like that in the 60s even when they weren't on drugs man.
Not saying they weren't. Just think the amount of work they'd have got through if they'd had the discipline and work ethic that being straight might have brought.

Yes, George had been to his show the night before and asked him to come over. Neither knew they were going to need a keyboard player. I've bought the new Let it Be vinyl box set and there's a great book included with loads of stories like that.
I bought the Get Back book.Will probably buy the Vinyl at some point and the DVD when it appears.
