The Beatles - Get back Documentary

Quite a few people raving about on the thread devoted to it have seen it iirc.

The ‘substances’ thing wasn’t the element that was uppermost in my mind btw. But hey ho.

only half way through the second episode so far, i was slightly apprehensive of peter jackson making this so long... however its just so fascinating watching them do almost nothing... the bit where they had a microphone hidden in the canteen recording john & paul talking about what to do with george walking out was riveting. just dipping in & out of it watching half an hour here & there is great.

Why yer bugger, i even did a search as well

It was one of the most stark aspects for me. Lennon is evidently heavily into the smack and doesn't look well. Ringo is walking round with a glass of wine in his mitt most of thre time and I presume Harrison is well into his psychadelics still - bringing Busdhist Monks along to stare at them whilst they rehearse.

Great idea to get him in. Apparently he just happened to be in England at the time.
i havent got that far yet, but in the anthology documentary one of them said that during this period when they had a "guest" in the studio (preston or clapton) they could sense everyone was on their best behaviour & all pulling together and working as a band.

Think it was George who mentioned that as he was responsible for getting Clapton in.

People were like that in the 60s even when they weren't on drugs man. ;) Not saying they weren't. Just think the amount of work they'd have got through if they'd had the discipline and work ethic that being straight might have brought.

What follows will be The Beatles' next single......

I sat and watched the next 6/7 minutes pretty much opened mouthed. Only watched the first episode, it's been unbelievable so far.

Same. I watched them as each episode got released daily last week and it was a nightmare having to wait 24hours for the next episode.

Thought we were boycotting all Disney + products cause the new owners of Poocastle have shares in the company
They were sold 2 years ago.n no need for a boycott

Yes, George had been to his show the night before and asked him to come over. Neither knew they were going to need a keyboard player. I've bought the new Let it Be vinyl box set and there's a great book included with loads of stories like that.
