He's doing really well with the Canadian men's national team, but seems bitter about his time at SAFC. Interesting that he talks about us having great coaches who weren't given any opportunities to progress. What happened to him? Did he quit or get the bullet? I don't remember him at all.

Canada haven't qualified since 1986, good effort.
 
Sounds more like he's talking about opportunities for coaches in the English game, mentioning there were good coaches here but they didn't get a chance to progress in the game because of the culture in English football rather than the club being shite.

That's how I read it. Not a dig at the club, just that he worked with people he thought were good coaches who didn't get the opportunity to move up the ranks
 
Still along way to go, they only half way through the qualifying tournament
Its looks like 3 from the USA, Mexico, Canada & Panama
