So what happens when an interviewer inevitably asks the question?
If an interviewer, let’s say Lineker for visualisation purposes, asks a football if he is gay, then Lineker receive backlash for being an arsehole.

Sky want us to think it is. It’s called dumbing down. And it’s working.……. Coming out next year

Main headline on sky news, surely that’s not the most important breaking news story in the world today? Is this even something important? These days I don’t get why this is even a big thing anymore.
Fully agree,of course they should live open and free lives. I was just questioning if making an official statement about it was beneficial. The most simple answer is so that these players can lead a normal life.
Can you imagine spending your entire working life hidden away? If you're away on international duty and everybody else's WAG's are being pictured in the stands and your partner is not allowed to join them, for fear of scandal?
If you can't go out in public with your other half, for fear of being "papped"? It really can't be easy.
Let them get it out in the open and then let them live a normal life. I think that's massively important.
Graeme Le SauxThen post who it it if it's out there
The games afoot. Are you on the game?
What happened during the Man Utd u23 game?Sitting near the back of the East stand during the Man Utd U23s game was enough to show me that this would be a big deal and there are absolutely elements of our fan base that would not be supportive. It shouldn’t matter at all, but it would.
Confront it? I think there’s too many “hero” stories in the press. Confront large groups of people as an individual does not usual end well. As yet I’ve never encountered a person on their own being overly racist or homophonic etc. always in the company of a crowd!
I agree. No one should attract any kind of attention because of their sexuality. But we don’t get to decide what is news. Media corporations decide what we should see and hear.Shouldn't even be news never mind a headline
I agree but the usual idiots will try to make life hell for a gay footballer via social media and by chants from the safety of being in a large group. Yes it will be welcomed by many but the first few to come out will be incredibly brave.……. Coming out next year

Because if they don’t then sky or some other shitehawks will. It’s in the public interest of course. At least this way the lads get to do it on their own terms. And not give the vermin among the press the opportunity to “out” them.If their sexuality is irrelevant to how they perform as a footballer, and of course it is,why announce it at all ?
You might as well tell us. It's hardly going to picked up by the BBC what goes on here.Look online its all there
Absolutely. One million percent.Peoples sexuality are their own business...
It absolutely is, but plenty of numpties would use it against them if it came out in other means.Peoples sexuality are their own business...
I've looked...it's not.Look online its all there
GPWMBecause if they don’t then sky or some other shitehawks will. It’s in the public interest of course. At least this way the lads get to do it on their own terms. And not give the vermin among the press the opportunity to “out” them.
Why do you think that?
Maybe because your new owners would murder him? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Why do you think that?
