Spot on from Martin Samuels nice little dig at the deluded Newcastle fans too

"Long before the Saudi takeover, Rafa Benitez was loved because his status flattered. Champions League winner, La Liga winner, Europa League winner, former manager of Valencia, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli — here was a man big enough for Newcastle.“

EXACTLY

I don't think there would've been. I think you'd have a had a temporary appeasement and a short window of a clean slate to see if he could aid the squad in avoiding relegation.
Got a great record in avoiding relegation and tightening a leaky back four has 'Wor Eddie'
So your saying NO other managers have turned you down?

You are deluded.
Oh, he's that alright

Righto. Let's say this discussion did in fact take place. Did they talk about the Saudi investment in other clubs, or just Newcastle? I have no time whatsoever for KSA and wish they hadn't bought us. No ifs, no buts, no excuses. What gets me is the holier than thou attitude of other clubs. People in glass houses and all that.
Care to name these 'other clubs' and why they're being holier than thou?

Was that not a lot to do with the world Cup though.
Filth deal was a bonus

Was it really?
That might make more sense.

The stuff I read about the piracy claim being settled all mentioned that 'a big obstacle for the NUFC takeover had been cleared', and it went through days later.

If there were other drivers apart from the takeover that might explain dropping a billion without a plan in place for the takeover.
