Jones initially made a huge impact when he arrived. He gave us a shape and it happened to tie in with Willocks wtf form. It gave him some in the bank for when things went shit.
He's obviously a decent coach as he's been to major tournaments with Belgium and England.

Good post, but not sure about the bit in bold. If they'd bought a similar club like Villa or West Ham, their fans would have held their noses and if over time the owners' money bought an exciting team and a couple of trophies, they'd get the "Saudi-backed champions" sportswashing goodwill that Man City and PSG have generated.
Having the Clampetts up the road dressing up as Yasser Arafat, waving Saudi flags and singing along to Arabic songs that could mean anything draws derision, keeps the focus on the ownership rather than the football and is probably not the image that the Saudis are trying to buy.
I think it is backfiring spectacularly so far. Like watching footage if a disaster in slow motion.

And those 2 or 3 are massively overrated. St Maximan is a one trick pony, he has his moments but is a big fish in a small pond.
Wilson is nowhere near as good as they think either. He'd be on the bench at a top half team.
But he stands out in a squad that is mostly championship material to anyone who doesn't own a black and white shirt.
