To be fair, somewhat more than a few. The demolition by clowns such as Mad Bob will, of course have made sure that his early confidence will have been damaged.

So well done Bob! Ever heard of constructive criticism? I attended my first match at Roker Park in the 1950/51 season and will happily discuss performances, good and bad in a civilised, constructive fashion.

You would, I hope enjoy St James Park, lots of similar clowns there. We would happily enjoy your silence on here, as would (I am sure) our players trying to learn their trade, being played out of position, playing whilst unfit etc.

Gooch has all the tools needed to be a decent player, even in the championship. I think you're right in that he thinks he's better than what he is, but he's more than capable if beating his man and putting the ball into a dangerous area. Maybe he just needs to go back to basics and stop trying so hard.
 
He’s not awful. He wasn’t even awful in his championship appearances. He’s one of the best wingers in this league, and one of our best players. He’s frustrating, but so is every winger that we’ve ever had. He’s good enough to be a starter in a side aiming for league one promotion.

I've just told him if he reads this :lol:.

Its pretty obvious what he's doing wrong. Everyone can't be a world beater but by playing to his strengths he can have an effective career.
 
Extremely limited footballer, gets praise on here because he "works hard". He will never play above League One level again in his career, will be turning out for South Shields within next 3 years.

He’ll be playing at a higher level than league one next season, with us.
