Gooch is awful

At the end of the season, Sunderland had amassed 125 points with Ross Stewart bagging 60 in the league mostly laid on by barrel chested yank Lyndon Gooch, who provided 63 assists for him.

When asked the secret to the success manager Lee Johnson explained:

“My good friend Derek McInnes up in Scotland told me about a guru he would often partake in lunch with - a mysterious luminary called Madbob the Makem who had advised him on numerous phantom takeovers, transfers and car upgrades over the years. I said: me and the leadership group should meet this guy. Immediately.

So through Charlie we arranged a lunch at the AOL with Kyril and to be honest we were blown away with the motivational strategy Bob came up with.

Using the “you can grow concrete” post-stupidity re-versioning of reality strategy we asked Bob to go on a local message board that all of us (players and staff) have quirky logins for and slag off Ross and Goochy, thus getting them riled up enough to react like cobras on the pitch - venom in the belly, fangs in the head.

Just look at the results.”

Bob was unavailable for comment but told us he would DM us later about a takeover/transfer scoop. We are still waiting.

 I'm confused, I actually thought Gooch had a great first half.
He needs to stop the theatricals when a decision goes against him and get straight back into the game instead of continuing to moan and flay his arms about....I don't know why this has crept into his game but it needs to stop.

He battled all night. He was constantly fouled, he had 3 players on him every time. He put a hell of a shift in and has just come back from injury.

Your up there with kilder for credibility
This^ @madbob read and learn.

Fair point as is the point the poster made about him having a good 1st half. A very promising return to the side for Gooch who understandably tired after HT , manager now has a conundrum whether to pick him or Embo.

He goes on like a right tatey like. Half the time it's over absolutely nowt narl.

I wouldn’t say he is awful, very frustrating as he tries to do too much, does the hard stuff easy and the easy stuff hard

Overplays. Someone should show him a few Steve Coppell video compilations.
Just stick it halfway between the keeper and the back line. Job done. If TLND doesn’t get to it then it’s LJs problem.

Both Gooch and AOB get unnecessary stick IMO, usually from clueless folk such as yourself
I suppose that we will have to put up with the MadBob twaddle. We have had it for a long term now. I often wonder how many promising young players snatched from us breathe a huge sigh of relief during their journeys to their new clubs.

I can clearly remember when Jordan Henderson was shite and Jack Colback was far better. I wonder how much Jordan's development was slowed by such rubbish.
