But they got “their club“ back.
The thing is, they’ve never been so far away from having their club back.
Maybe it’s the Sunday night wine, sending me soft, but I truly can’t believe there aren’t decent Newcastle fans out there, who don’t wear tea towels and who aren’t equally horrified.

My moral compass was me dad, I know in my heart he’d never have gone to see Sunderland again, there must be Mag dads out there thinking similar. Surely … 🤷‍♀️

Any post I’ve put on FB about this I’ve done the privacy thing so the Mags I know couldn't see my posts.
Not because I’m a coward, but because I feel so vehemently angry about this and because I am, so genuinely disappointed, in the response of some usually very decent people that I like (despite being Mags) and especially some I regard as my second family, and I didn’t want to get into arguments and fall out with them (nothing is worth that).

Interesting you say that. My in laws are all Mags and im yet to speak to them properly about it (had covid etc) so im nervous about arguments that may crop up..

Well I'm prepared to admit that I've never given that much attention to human rights abuses in Saudi or anywhere else for that matter.

However I doubt 99% of the people on here that are criticising Newcastle supporters have done that either, until this deal came along.

Disingenuous, hypocritical and sanctimonious are just three words that spring to mind.

Although if this deal has made people genuinely rethink what the relationship with Saudi Arabia and other countries should be then that has go to be a good thing.
If you don’t like what people are saying about your beloved overlords, then piss off onto on your own message board. Tea towel shagger.

In an ideal world, mag dads would be disgusted. Sadly, in this world, they are all wanting tea towels for Christmas, which is ironic:
”There are a few Muslim-born Christians, and conversion from Islam is punishable by death. Church buildings are forbidden and so Christians meet in house churches, which are frequently raided. Christians may be arrested, imprisoned, tortured and deported for their faith”

Inclusion eh? ;)

john barnes’ moral compass is the British government (re: his article last week when he stuck up for the takeover)

i’m giving your faatha the benefit of the doubt ahead of Boris and his bullingdom club chums

I do wonder how mag parents are going to explain this to their kids.

Happy that they are clearly doing due diligence and making sure they get the right man and not rushing the decision, never going to get an elite manager at this time due to our league position and poor squad but I will be happy with Fonseca.

I’ve not spoken to them directly since take over but I’ve seen their reactions/responshe’s.

I don’t deny I hid them from seeing my FB posts, I don’t want to fall out with them, but, I’m not sure, actually no, its not, not sure, it’s certain, if they had a moral compass i wouldn’t have to block them from having the opportunity to go “ha ha, lose 0-1 win to CharLyon - League 1, not good infact very disappointing
1-

1-1 Palace still in bottom three with some tough fixtures coming up.

Spin that you Saudi loving, child killing murderer

Due diligence 😀
Do you not think for one second that if this had been planned and thought through they’d have someone in place.
Instead of NUFC maybe CAFC, Comical ally football club.

So in

I always pull people up on it and I have been supporting Sunderland nearly 50 years now. I am not however going to ring every bloody phone in as I have better things to do. All I ask is that my fellow Sunderland supporters recognise that we have a sizeable minority of Geordies supporting us and stop assuming we are all mags.

Fair enough you want us to recognise we have Geordies that support us which we already know, but your not keen on broadcasting the fact to the rest of the country strange but carry on 👍

We'd have happily sold our soul if in a similar situation.
In your opinion, i'm not so sure. We may have, we may not have but do you really think we'd have gone for it with the relish as they did?
I'm pretty sure we all know thay anwser, as do fans of other clubs, it seems.

For example, when Man City were taken over I seem to remember a SSN reporter outside of their ground with two blokes behind, with teatowels on their heads and doing the "walk like an Egyptian" dance from the Bangles video. Now compare that to the scenes a couple of weeks ago.

Were the man City fans severely pissed of with their owners at that time or are you comparing apples and pears?

Who knows what's around the corner for you lot. Perhaps the Myanmar regime might come in and we'll see how much different mackems are from geordies.

This is just more "whataboutery" and moving into the realms of "whatiffery". Fact; you are now owned by a murderous regime who have links to terrorist organisations. You lot wouldnty know shit from clay when it comes to a moral compass

You know I'm starting to think this isn't the "magic carpet ride" (pardon the pun given the association) that the mags thought it would be. I know that's a long-shot given its very early days.

However, if you look at the reputational damage they're facing over this, the revelations that they won't be as investing as much as they hoped, the managerial candidates being fairly unimpressive and the reality they're still dogshit and without a win all season... it isn't going to be an instant miraculous transformation.

Whilst the chances of them going down are drastically reduced if they have a good January transfer window, the reality is this season they'll be continuing to fight relegation. The problem wasn't just Bruce.

It could literally and may well be when they play Norwich in December when they actually get their first win...

Mackems salt of the earth ,mags shit on me shoe !!!!! That's the difference ,ya knacker?

You have to remember the mags will spend lots in January. Signings like maddison, lacazette, Luis diaz for 70 Mill. Mid table this season.
The funny part will be they will only sign decent PL players but have to give them massive contracts. So yeah they will climb the table and yeah they have unlimited money, but they will have shit players (for the standard they will be heading) hanging around for years and years
