The thing is, they’ve never been so far away from having their club back.
Maybe it’s the Sunday night wine, sending me soft, but I truly can’t believe there aren’t decent Newcastle fans out there, who don’t wear tea towels and who aren’t equally horrified.

My moral compass was me dad, I know in my heart he’d never have gone to see Sunderland again, there must be Mag dads out there thinking similar. Surely … 🤷‍♀️

Interesting you say that. My in laws are all Mags and im yet to speak to them properly about it (had covid etc) so im nervous about arguments that may crop up..

In an ideal world, mag dads would be disgusted. Sadly, in this world, they are all wanting tea towels for Christmas, which is ironic:

I’ve not spoken to them directly since take over but I’ve seen their reactions/responshe’s.

For example, when Man City were taken over I seem to remember a SSN reporter outside of their ground with two blokes behind, with teatowels on their heads and doing the "walk like an Egyptian" dance from the Bangles video. Now compare that to the scenes a couple of weeks ago.

Were the man City fans severely pissed of with their owners at that time or are you comparing apples and pears?

Who knows what's around the corner for you lot. Perhaps the Myanmar regime might come in and we'll see how much different mackems are from geordies.

You know I'm starting to think this isn't the "magic carpet ride" (pardon the pun given the association) that the mags thought it would be. I know that's a long-shot given its very early days.

However, if you look at the reputational damage they're facing over this, the revelations that they won't be as investing as much as they hoped, the managerial candidates being fairly unimpressive and the reality they're still dogshit and without a win all season... it isn't going to be an instant miraculous transformation.

Whilst the chances of them going down are drastically reduced if they have a good January transfer window, the reality is this season they'll be continuing to fight relegation. The problem wasn't just Bruce.

It could literally and may well be when they play Norwich in December when they actually get their first win...

The funny part will be they will only sign decent PL players but have to give them massive contracts. So yeah they will climb the table and yeah they have unlimited money, but they will have shit players (for the standard they will be heading) hanging around for years and years
