Literally millions would disagree. The acting especially in later episodes is actually pretty f***ing great. Hard to get attached to and empathise with characters when reading subtitles but think they wrote in some really good characters that put in some fine performances.Squid Game
How anyone can enjoy this is beyond me. The acting is exceptionally awful. The main character is not likeable in the slightest, couldn't give a hoot if he is eliminated.
Also the narrative is utterly predictable. It's like something a first year film student would write. I managed the first two episodes and 20 minutes of the third before giving up, and it's rare I bin off something I've started watching.
It's not particularly original as an idea either, but then barely anything is these days. Positives are the visuals are quite good, the arena on the first game was pretty good. I honestly can't think of anything else good about it.
It has Seoul but no soul.
A disappointing 1.5/4 from Mux.
May not be totally original but it is all about timing for some things. The anti-capitalist message runs deep and the story is well told throughout.
