I was through Newcastle one Saturday morning after theyd recently signed Mirandina and they were waiting for the pubs to open in grass skirts/Brazil shirts/skunk shirts/Hawaiian shirt combinations with those flowery Garland things around their necks.
they have a habit of doing stuff like that. rasta wigs when gullit was there, berets and onions round the neck when they signed a few frenchies etc, etc...

 I mean, you seem to be operating under the impression that Newcastle fans are different to Sunderland fans in that regard. You lot have your own history of embarrassing and shameful moments. So does every fanbase. So lets not pretend that your conviction is anything other than petty tribalism.

If you truly, wholeheartedly, think that Sunderland fans wouldn't have been reacting the same way if the Saudi showed an interest in your club under Short, you're only lying to yourself.

Nope. Already shared a quote from Ashley that shows Benitez didn't even want him at £20m.
I can only speak for myself, but in all honesty if KSA had taken over Sunderland I would have walked away. I would have to live with a football sized hole in my life and schedule but that'd have been me done.

It's all look at us, look at us, like us please.

I've seen lots of people say that. Easy to say it when it's a hypothetical. I know men of conviction who have walked away from Newcastle, and men of conviction who haven't. It's naïve to claim that Sunderland fans, as a group, would protest a Saudi takeover if they found themselves in our position.

I know it's easy to say, I also know how I feel and my personal morals. As I say I'm talking of me and not judging anyone else. I have said it before they rocked up at your place too.

and that shared quote you provided has the following in it:

"Rafa valued him at £20m. So that's what would come out of the club budget. The rest, £23m – I'll pay.”

That to me looks like Rafa valued him at £20m unless I’ve misread it.

A few of the dullards seem to think the argument is that SAFC fans are better than those of other clubs. It’s not, it’s that the mags are worse. They’re a bunch of attention seeking wacky arseholes who can’t help but embarrass themselves constantly. Whether it’s mock funerals, punching horse and shouting at shops or weird fancy dress at any opportunity. I don’t think they can argue anyone else goes on like that.

They simultaneously take themselves far too seriously and act like absolute clowns. Truly a special breed….which they always go on about, until you point it out and then “we are no different to you lot”.

You spouting this crap again?
Where is the quote from Ashley Where he says that Benitez did not want Joelinton? Where does Benitez say “I do not want him”?
From your post:
“he didn't want to commit to the transfer until he knew what his position was with the club next season.”

"So here's the deal. I'll pay £20m of it personally.

"Nothing to do with the club. Above and beyond the budget.

"Rafa valued him at £20m.

"So that's what would come out of the club budget. The rest, £23m – I'll pay.

"And he still didn't sign it off.
