People seem to be suggesting Fonseca would be a crap appointment, genuinely wondering why? I'm hoping they go for Howe or Lampard tbh. Fonseca seems to have done a canny enough job everywhere he's been, and was seemingly first choice for spurs. If he could get a job like that, you'd imagine he'd only come to Newcastle if they're going to back him significantly. Would be a more ambitious appointment than quite a few of the names in the hat as far as I can tell
His CV isn't great at all except in the Ukrainian league which only has two worthwhile teams as in Scotland.
Why Spurs wanted him is a mystery to me.
Favre much better bet. Howe:lol: cudnt even handle Burnley man. FF big gamble.

The Premier League have enough in that statement to throw the whole thing out
They know they are involved. It looks obvious to me outside looking in.
Premier league have told clubs it will be blocked, government have insisted it goes through premier league clubs now fuming hence the sponsorship blocking stuff, the emergency meetings
It’s staggering it’s got through these ‘owners tests’ but not surprising. Won’t be long before the super league stuff rises again where the big boys will eventually prevail
Hearing Neville get all noisy about super league from moral point of view then all for a Saudi takeover sums football up hypocrisy everywhere
Mags are happy to be owned by these people and what they stand for ,
unless they win things consistently they will be reminded constantly they sold their souls for fuck all
They have became the country’s most hated team, and unlike Millwall I think they care, they live to be loved and patted on the back seeking appreciation they won’t cope with constant criticism and clubs ripping them off for players making life difficult at every opportunity with FFP etc.

Let's hope the prem are a bit pissed off about having to put it through and have some strict measures when/if they break parts of the agreement.....😉🤞

Aye, howe and Lampard would be shit, that's why I hope they get them! I'd heard of Fonseca but didn't know much about him so looked him up. Never stayed anywhere for long but won the domestic cup with Braga, did well with Shakhtar (not hard winning things with them in Ukraine I guess but still decent), got Roma 5th and in the semi of the europa.

Not world beating or anything but would he have gone there under Ashley? Howe probably would, Lampard likewise (not sure who else will take a punt on him), but this lad probably wouldn't. If he stays two seasons and improves them they might be quite happy with a short stay and onto a bigger name. It's a risk given their league position mind, but no more so than any of the other names mentioned

Hasn't lasted 2 mins at any club and has mostly managed the some of the best sides in the leagues he's been in. Sacked from Porto in his first season for having them third. Sacked by Roma for being 7th with a few games to go. Done canny at Shakhtar but who doesn't?

Unemployed and straight into a job of a team in the PL who haven't won a game all season and have barely crossed the halfway line for 3 years. Plays attacking football though which will at least be more enjoyable to watch for them. Not sure which way it would for him. Feels like a bit of a gamble.

Good article. It states ”one look at Sunderland shows what can happen when a club becomes separated from its Premier League revenue .No billionaire saviours from the gulf are on the horizon in wearside”
He's an arsehole and he can't resist a little dig. But anyway, even if we didn't have KLD id rather be skint than do what those wankers have done.
They’ll go down if they get Fonseca, they need a fire fighter
Trumpton fire brigade wadnt turn out for them

I've stayed off this thread as tbh I'm lost for words at this whole thing, however, I've just seen this piece on the BBC and read the comment from a fella called Mohammed Al-Jadaan, who is the KSA Minister of Finance and acting Minister of the Economy and Planning.

"If people are worried about competition amongst clubs, and particularly now we have invested in one of them, possibly it's a good sign that there is a potential serious competitor coming their way, which is good for the whole football community," he said.

If, as has been widely reported, the state / kingdom is not involved who is the WE he is referring to? Strange thing for him to say.

He knows exactly what he's saying. He's taking the piss. They got what they wanted and all it took was a text to fat Doris, "look at us, we do what we want, we buy what we want, including prime ministers"
Can't see Newcastle City Council or the government objecting, they'll all in with the bus bombers
Newcastle city council will do as they're told.
