That may have been the case for some supporters, not me, I didn't want him because he's a poor manager, a downward step from what we had and have had over the years, and we've had some shite, he was the worst of the lot....

I don't care where he had managed before, Sunderland, Birmingham, Hull, he just isn't a good manager....
Fair enough, but I didn't mean you personally anyway but for a large section of your support it's true, I know lads who are sensible & normal but seem to have some sort of huge superiority complex if you mention Sunderland and Newcastle in the same breath.........I suppose they have good right to, after all it's based on about five seasons 25 years ago.......

I suppose I agree that he isn't a good manager, Ive stated earlier in the thread, he's a fair to middling manager, had success, had failure. He's not a top manager by any stretch of the imagination but then Newcastle aren't a top club, so in some respects he was a fair match for you. I don't really want to go down the whole Bruce/Rafa route again but it's impossible to ignore when discussing his (Bruce) treatment by the fans. It's a long time since Benitez was a top manager too, but his failures were at Inter, Real Madrid, Napoli not Sunderland, Birmingham, Hull.........and with that in mind it's not too difficult so see why between two managers with very similar records, one was lauded and the other despised.

Fonseca is pretty ‘anti-defence’, always insists on his teams attacking from the off and never sitting back, which works brilliantly at Shakhtar Donetsk, doesn’t really work at Roma, and could be a disaster for a team with a very bad bunch of defenders.
Watch oot Prem, Tha Entatainaz are back in Toon

Unfortunately for them Sexy Football = Getting Fucked with their defence

I am totally against the sale, but.

Sports washed.
I am totally against sports washing and thought about making 100's, nay 1000's, of posts about it previously when it was Chelsea and Manchester City......... except I just didn't get around to it.
Morals when the issue is close to home. Someone else's problem / issue when it is next door perhaps??

nope your previous answer gave the 'whataboutery' - you said what about Chelsea, Man U and Man C - you said that bad is bad and implied it makes no odds if one is a bit worse. That's precisely what Sportswashing is - NUFC's are 'much the same' as these other owners, except none of the others blow up bus fulls of children, persecute a whole range of groups and behead people where a stout fine would be imnposed here if anything at all. "All nazis were evil, Hitler was no more evil than the rest of them" very quickly becomes "he was just following party orders" and of course the Mag classic "If Hitler hadn't killed the Jews, someone else would have".

Morally bankrupt.
Read again. I did not.

I can't believe there will be too many willing to risk taking this job.

Just imagine you have a bad run of form, then you get a phone call summoning you to the Saudi consulate for a meeting...

You seem to have a problem seeing the difference between rich individuals buying clubs versus Murder Inc buying yours

The long list of human rights abuses of your new owners including a recording of them dismembering a journalist make Abramovitch and Mansour look like The Tellytubbies in comparison

The fact huge swarms of your fellow fans were filmed celebrating dressed as Arabs, camels and Saudi Flags really put the lid on it

But we were told the Saudis didn't find it offensive.

I doubt they did, but the professional offence takers in this country have been up in arms.

They looked ridiculous mind you so they've probably done the mags a favour to stop them embarrassing themselves even more, though as ever they'll find plenty of other ways to do that.

they probably did mind, especially when waving a brown ale bottle around, someone will have had a word. The flag stuff was dodgy as well

If you did that in Saudi, you'd get some very strange looks at best. It's an insult.

No. You seem to have only read isolated posts.
I do not support our new owners. The question I asked, and keep asking without response, is what is the line of acceptable?
All I get in response are variations of Saudis' are the worst. I agree.
Does that mean only the worst are not fit and proper OR is it a case of the 'big clubs' will only kick up a stink it the new owners of a club are really evil AND rich beyond their clubs wealth?
