Bruce’s record at Sunderland and Newcastle is remarkably and similarly poor

Sunderland P - 98, W - 29, D - 28, L - 41, Win% - 29.6
Newcastle P - 97, W - 28, D - 28, L - 41, Win % - 28.9

It’s more the way the north east journalists have treated him that was shocking like. Downie in particular was cruel in talking about names for his position live on air, and interviewing the morons outside the ground, when he was still in a job.

Cant even feel sorry for him, he is a shit manager and a bit of a dick head, I'm sure he was forcing a more heavy geordie accent during interviews...Wor this and Wor that.

As Sunderland fans it will be prudent not to tune into total sport as the whole programme will be dedicated to who will be their next manager. Our wine yesterday will get a small footnote.
Good move selling our own wine though. Nowadays more fans will be drinking it. Not sure why Total Sport would be advertising it for free?

@SkySports_Keith: Steve Bruce tells @LukeEdwardsTele: “It has been very, very tough. To never really be wanted, to feel that people wanted me to fail, to read people constantly saying I would fail, that I was useless, a fat waste of space, a tactically inept cabbage head or whatever. From day 1.”
Thing is he managed to convince the media he was badly treated here because of his Mag roots.
He’s popular among many people in the media and they some will probably be more likely to criticise Mag fans for their treatment of Bruce than for dancing around in tea towels

Given we had a better squad, I'd say he did a better job at the mags. Taking points from over half your games isn't that terrible for a mid table Premier League club.

His mates Allardyce, Hodgson, Hughes, Moyes, Pardew and Pulis must be foaming
Tbh an Allardyce or Hodgson of ten years ago is exactly who they need atm. Would get the defence organised and keep them up. Pragmatism won’t come into it at the Landfill though, a foreign manager who they think will have them playing on the front foot immediately is who they’ll demand. I think they’ll go down which would be hysterical
