Ghostbuster: Afterlife

People we voting it as zeroes on IMDB before it had even been released. Saying that there was a strong sexist vibe against it is probably fair comment.

Lots and lots of people decided, before watching it, that they hated it. And we all know the reason
The trailer made it look utterly shit?

:lol::lol:

So every film that has a shit trailer sees it's IMDB score bombed, and it's stars get dogs abuse?

Nowt to do with sexism?

Reeto mate, whatever you say.
Ghostbusters is an absolute classic.

You wait nearly 30 years to release a sequel, and then replace every cast member with a woman.

The trailer then launches which looks utter shit.

It’s like Sony were trolling the fan community.

People do not like change.

So the fact they were women was a problem?

I loved the original Ghostbusters and couldn't believe they basically remade it in 2016. It looked to me like it was set up to be just a piss take of the original. Aykroyd wants shot with shit for being behind that.

Looking forward to this new one though as it is a proper sequel to the original

You just jumped in there feet first without understanding the context of the post, smart arse

You literally said "they replace every character with women". Like, they are your words.

What other context could there be to that, other than you thinking that casting women was a bad thing?

It was a bad idea to replace 4 blokes with 4 women, yeah, not taking anything away from women in general, who I have a lot of respect for, but it was a weird decision that just didn’t work.

Have you tried looking at it without any form of bias?

The bit in bold :lol: WTF mate? Are you actually Alan Partridge?

Looking past the sheer weirdness of that statement.......Why was it a bad idea? Like, such a bad idea that people kicked off about it before it was released.

As for looking without bias, i'm not sure what you mean. The film is neither nowt nor summat - it isn't terrible but it certainly isn't good, and I can't remember a single thing about it. The same as about a million other films every year (which don't get the same abuse). And the same as a million other remakes/rebootsn of beloved films/tv shows (which don't get the same abuse).

But the fact that before it was released, there was a massive tidal-wave of rage and fury from the sexist Incel mob, is purely because it was women in it. Like, I'm not sure how that can even be disputed.

Aside from the sexism, it also highlighted a f***ing awful thing about fan culture nowadays where they think they *own* everything, and that if things aren't made exactly how they want it, or exactly how the 'source material' or whatever, or it doesn't pay enough lip-service to the way it 'used to be done', they get all pissy.

But at least they normally wait until after the release. They didn't with Ghostbusters (2016), which is the big tell-tale sign of what it was all about.

It was a shit film.

People had been waiting 30 years for a follow up and they wheeled out that.

I can understand why a fan boy would be disappointed.

Trying to remain as neutral as possible here but it’s clear you have your own agenda and that’s fair enough. Equal opportunities and all that.

Give yourself a pat on the back.
Perhaps there should be an award for most virtuous poster, you’d certainly get my vote!

It hadn't been released mate. They hadn't seen the film but decided it would be shit, and then decided to then give a shitload of (sexist) abuse to it's stars, and spam it's IMDB with bad ratings.

But aye, fair do's, the fan boy Incel pieces of shit were right to be disappointed.

It is possible to not rate the film, and also think the reaction to it from people like you was pretty disgusting.

Usually controversy helps a film release - don’t think it helped in this case - didn’t the female version of Ghost Busters flop anyway?

Are you on glue?! It is sexist (towards men and women before you start), it is one of very few films that I have ever seen that hasn't one redeemable feature. It's racist as well.
