The murder of Khashoggi takes away any subjectivity regarding morality. As for 'any fans', well there was more dissent from our fans when Di Canio was appointed and by any objective the 'crimes' of Di Canio were nothing compared. The lack of outrage would be among any set of fans. Obviously it can be argued because it's just us at the moment that's under the attack from all angles.
It goes back to subjective morality.
I keep saying it because it's true.
In pre war Germany there was an overwhelming majority of support for the National socialist party. Didnt make it ok. Then or now.
@Mr ClarkoDo you agree with CIA that your new owner ordered the mutilation of the journalist.
Do you agree 15 of the 19 hijackers involved with 9/11 were Saudi nationals.
Do you agree that Saudi harboured Bin Laden and his family still reside there.
Do you agree Salman orders the castration of gays and stones women believed to be unfaithful
Do you agree he orders the torture of those who disagree with his policies.
Do you agree he orders the relentless bombing of Yemen , including a school bus.
All things the West despised and talked about when these issues occurred. Probably even you , though you possibly laughed .
Samsonite make canny suitcases. Or maybe Bosch. They have a tidy line in electric saws. Can’t stick a fiver on Newcastle to win this weekend but can lob a gay off off the top of a building.
Any suggestions for new sponsors?

Yes, definitely. I am genuinely amazed the murderer of Khashoggi owns a Premier League club. And equally amazed with how comfortable your fans appear to be. I don't think for a second that the fans of, say Everton, would have reacted like your fans. I think there would have been genuine and understandable outrage. My surprise is how accepting you are.You really feel that strongly?
At this moment in time, maybe not.Blanket statement. I for one wouldn't trade places.
They aren't complicated at all. They are straight forward. You either think they are basic rights or not. Those are some very complicated questions and issues (plural), that I don't believe to be relevant to my argument buddy...
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.Even when your lord and masters bomb busses full of kids?
I'm a fan of Newcastle United. When they throw Gays off the top of buildings?
I'm a fan of Newcastle United. When they stone women for Adultery?
I'm a fan of Newcastle United. When they allow FGM?
I'm a fan of Newcastle United. You deserve each other!
Complicit in what exactly?Except you can't simply sportswash what goes on behind the scenes. As a "fan" you're complicit in it whether you like it or not.
You were the one who responded to my comment, what point were you trying to make? You stated that 'by SMB standards the NUFC* thread is not particularly big or long running', that's just not really true is it? This thread is particularly big by SMB standards and the the only reason it's not 'long running' is because you 'tidy them up' every month or so... You can say you 'couldn't give a flying f**k' but again, you responded to me.It could well be. Until recently my only contact with NUFC* threads has been to tidy them up in my role as mod.
To be honest I've no idea what point you're trying to make.
But there's no need to explain because to be even more honest I really couldn't give a flying f*ck.
Finally, I said the 2 million views of photo thread was truly remarkable.
If you're going to quote me, then quote me accurately.
Stop trying to justify it with “you would…” when you actually have no idea. Truth is, YOU ARW, and it’s mingingAt this moment in time, maybe not.
Your faith is with your new owner and you're doing ok.
If it went teets up and this regime came along with promises, I'd guess that many of the fans would be over the moon and argue exactly like is being argued on here.
But that's just my opinion and proof cannot be shown until something like that happens, if ever.
Perhaps you're right. I guess if we hadn't been owned by someone the fanbase hated there may have been a more considered reaction, but it wasn't to be. Saudis were the only group to get a bid accepted by Ashley, I do wonder if there'd been two bids and one was less money but more acceptable by not being autocratic despots, whether the fans would have been encouraged to lean the other way.But you say it shouldn't have been allowed. The PL and / or the government shouldn't have let it happen. That's fine, and I agree that's where the blame lies, much more so than on the daft mag with a tea towel on his head.
But, given that, surely you accept that the fans of Newcastle could have had a voice during the two odd years it dragged on for. Could have voiced discontent and suggested that the PL and government should be blocking it. Instead you (your fans) did the opposite. We want Saudi posts, people marching to the PL headquarters, people getting MPs involved. Not to remind them that they should oppose it, but to actively campaign for them to allow it. To sit there now and say "we don't have a say" doesn't make your fan base immune from criticism. If you'd kicked up a fuss at the time and made a big thing about how the values of your club and your community are broadly incompatible with those of the Saudi state, they'd quite possibly have moved on. Instead you rolled out the red carpet...
You can repeat the same thing over and over again, it doesn't make it true.Significant you dullard.
Certainly more Significant than safc fans on a mag board.
You're desperate.
Complicit in murdering terrorist regimes. Which you clearly don't give a toss about.I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
Complicit in what exactly?
Being a Newcastle fan and loving the club? I agree.
It'll sound contrived and probably unbelievable but I fell out of love with the premier league during our last few seasons. This season is the most I've enjoyed watching my team in along time. Yes the standard is not the 'best' but in terms of enjoyment its up there, its competitive! Anyone can beat anyone, all teams are out to win, no VAR, proper contact football - its how I remember it and why I fell in love with it in the first place. At this moment in time, maybe not.
Your faith is with your new owner and you're doing ok.

Nukeasshole, I feel so sorry for you.I'm a fan of Newcastle United.

I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
I'm a fan of Newcastle United.
Complicit in what exactly?
Being a Newcastle fan and loving the club? I agree.
Then you're a disgusting human being.I'd prefer Newcastle to achieve success from legitimate in house means.
However, so corrupt is the game of football today and has been for a fair time, I'm now at the stage where, what will be will be. If we are in a position to buy and get among the elite clubs then fine.
No.No, and that’s one of the reasons why the Chinese state should never be allowed to own an English football club. Do you agree?

These lot could afford any club but I don't think for one second think the fans of Man Utd or Arsenal would accept this.
You are coming across as desperate to say you are just like any other group of fans.
Maybe they did or maybe they sw a real opportunity to have a nice big hobby club or even felt the Reuben brother were onto something good in the city and felt buying into it and a club to boot would be the way forward.I understand why you suggesting this but I think you are incorrect. The Saudis realised you were so desperate to get rid of Ashley that morals would not be an issue. Astute lads.
Who’s asking you to apologise ? By the way how bad would an owner have to be for you to say no ? Would Epstein have been ok if alive and was as rich as the Saudis ? Is there any barrier unacceptable to Newcastle fansI didn't want rid of Ashley because I was worried some chancer would come in after buyout and put us into oblivion.
However, if it turned out like that and we ended up in the doldrums but still running as a club, I'd still be the same fan and supporter.
It just so happens we've got these owners and again, there's nothing I can do and nor am I going to apologise for it. I'm a fan.
