It is not the house prices - there are 2.5m+ houses everywhere it is the concentration of expensive properties that matters to a player. 86 apparently over 2.5m within 40 miles of Alderley Edge and 27 within 5 miles (there are 3 within 5 miles of Darras Hall).

South Manchester has had 30 years of developing an eco system the modern day multi-millionaire wants. You only have to catch a glimpse of Desperate Housewives to see that.

In case you were unware Everton's Finch Farm is just 30 miles from Alderley Edge and Liverpool Kirby academy is 40 miles (all motorway). The LFC/EFC players all used to live either Wirral or Formby/Crosby now a few are in Formby, a few in the city centre but many are in South Manchester. Even Burnley players and (when they were in the Prem) Stoke players live there. All the Brazilians/Argentinians knock about together and the A380 Emirates/Qatar/Ethihad flights are a huge pull also. Schools also - Pep was looking at schools 12 months before he moved.

But that aside money talks. I have no idea how a modern footballer thinks but if they can offer 350k p/w as opposed to 200k p/w then a 5 year deal is worth almost 40m more.

Let's face it, the Bigg Market doesn't cut it.

Yep. Henderson recently tried to ruin the village aesthetic of Knutsford with plans to revamp his house into some awful techno-mansion

Premier League seems very crowded now for a sportswashing PR vehicle . You've already got two established NFP oligarch operations City and Chelsea , then two of the most famous clubs in the world United and Liverpool and then the other London clubs.
As a new entrant , you'd be spending billions to battle Leicester / Villa / Everton for a Europa Conference place.

They'd be better off in Serie A , could pick up the likes of Samp or Lazio for buttons...

Which new build estate?

Newcastle Great Park, just off Kingston Park Road.

They were after Inter when the initial interest in Newcastle cooled off.

I'm happy with what we've got here. You can spend all the money you want on the best players in the world but to be truly successful as you have to invest in the infrastrucutre of the club and ensure it's on a solid footing. KLD has recognized this and set us up as a proper unit and i'm convinced he's the right man to progress the club going forward.

After the years watching Donald and Short nearly take our club to oblivion i'm just happy we seem to be back on the right track and back, hopefully, on the way up!

The mags. F**k them.

Whatever happens, however much they spend, the pressure on Newcastle from Amnesty International, LGBT, Women’s rights groups etc will be absolutely immense as Newcastle will give them a huge stage and audience to protest

When it looked like Dell was taking over , there must have been thousands of posts stating how we were going to be the richest club in the world , the next Man City and ripping a new arsehole out of the Mags. Now that the the Mags are actually looking like they are being taken over by a country who’s wealth dwarfs Qatar and Abu Dhabi , probably the same posters are stating they couldn’t give a fuck , that they won’t be able to attract players and Fair play will prevent them from spending .
Make no bones about it , this is bad news for us and no matter how people try to sugar coat it , they are kidding themselves.
We will be playing them in the championship next season if we peddle Lee Johnson and get a decent manager in.

"Torture"

@omgrotb: Unless you are a Toon fan, you have no real concept of what football torture is. It’s not just what happens on the pitch, but more so, its what happens off it. A chairman who hates us, who refuses to reinvest. 10yrs of pain, a ground that has slowly degraded. We need this! #NUFC
Fuck me I absolutely despise these ***** man.... There's f***ing thousands of them who come out with absolute shite like this as well

That's absolutely bollocks I'm afraid. Search mag in peace and the key word Saudi to see what I've said over the years since the takeover was first mooted.

Plenty of our fans object to it. There just isn't much we can do when our own f***ing government can't influence change.

You can protest in the same way fans protested against Ashley surely?

Why go to Italy when you can buy into a club that have the most brain dead gullible fans anywhere in world football. A fan base that you know will fall over themselves to defend a disgusting regime.

I asked this question last night, what happens if this regime doesn’t pay off and they continue to win fuck all? Do they get run out of town as well?

 Give owa man, you know we're joint top and barring one bad result we've played very well all season aye? Absolute whopper.
Sadly his streaks follow him around and every single season in his career, without fail, the team he manages go on a very long winless run. Similar this season and we won’t finish top 2.
