There are literally members on this very board with names like "Ashley In", "6inarow", there are at least 10 members with FTM somewhere in their name. This thread is one of the the most contributed to. Your man Exile seems to post mostly about Newcastle on here and on twitter. The matchday threads on here are longer for Newcastle than they are for other PL fixtures.

Lets call it how it is, there are fans on both sides of the divide who care as much about hating the other team, as they do about supporting their own.

Personally? I only hate you lot for about 4 weeks of any season where we're in the same league (day of the derby and the weeks before and after them). I enjoy you struggling, of course I do, but I'm not about to make shit up, or occupy patently ridiculous positions to point score on the internet.

So it's more about the perception of how unhappy Newcastle fans should feel? If a Bury fan were to hear how much we moan, they'd be justified in saying "Hang the fuck on there sunshine". But everyone's battles are their own. There are Man City fans bemoaning their club because they didn't land Messi or Kane, Liverpool fans are unhappy because they didn't strengthen their squad, all the way down the leagues.

When Short was still in town, did you hold off complaining because other teams have it worse? Did you bollocks.

apart from spending a fair proportion of your waking day, on here

Bullshit. You hate us as much as I hate you. I dip into these threads because they're always good for a giggle. Like most mags, even those I reluctantly call friends mainly through work, you try to play the holier than thou, couldn't really care less about Sunderland card but just be honest man. You wish the worst on us, you have wet yourself laughing over the last few years as we've plummeted down the league. I know I would if it was you lot. My ambition is to live to see you in the Northern League.

I need to vent now and again.

Aye, Ashley isn't perfect and I agree with some of the stuff the Mags come out with (even you) but is it really as bad as some Mags make out? Given I'm a rival supporter then I'll take the piss rather than offer any support as to Ashley's negatives. I personally know some decent Mags but the overall delusion of the 90's and the way some Mags go on with the 'poor us' attitude is the reason why even now with us 2 leagues below we seem to laugh the longest and most at our rivals 🤣😂
No, it's not as bad as some make out. Some were saying we're 100% getting relegated after the losses to West Ham and Villa. Football fans do tend to overreact. It's not unique to Newcastle.

I'm a rival, I take the piss with my mackem mates about your troubles, I can still support the view that Short was bad, that Donald and Methven were charlatans etc. There's plenty of material to mock you lot aside from how your owners have fucked your club.

Nope. I don't. I've said I enjoy your troubles, but I don't hate Sunderland or its fans. I think you've been badly run and ( as is always the case) the fans are paying for bad owners/managers. I laughed when you went down to League One, and laugh when you failed to get promoted. But I don't hate you.

I'd rather you weren't in the top flight until we got our shit together, but I miss the derby. I miss having something to look forward to and dread in equal measure.

Then you're a better man than me, but you're not cos you're a mag at the end of the day ;)

One of the things I remember about Bruce really was when we beat you 5-1. I remember that day thinking how clueless and lacking in fight you were. It looked like a group of players who were strangers and didn't know what they were doing. Thats how I see us now.

You then compare that to your wins against us managed by less experienced and possibly more limited managers, and they were deserved wins as well. Even Di Canio who has done nothing since orchestrated one of those wins, as at the very least I imagine he could properly instill fight and passion into the players.

Bruce has managed hundred and hundreds of games in the PL and still doesn't look like he knows what he's doing most of the time.
Bruce’s plan B was to take off the wingers for strikers and lump it forward. He didn’t understand that he was taking off the players that could cross the ball in to the lads he was bringing on.

Haha that sounds frighteningly familiar like, and this is the issue, he has not changed, improved or adapted as a manager in all these years. On Saturday when Wilson came off he brought Joelinton on ahead of Gayle. Okay Gayle has his limitations but the only way we were getting to them at all was the pace on the counter, which Joelinton certainly does not possess. He is just not very good at his job, and can't even be forgiven a bit for that by being likeable. I know he is by the press, but tellingly not by fans of clubs he has managed in the main.

The new party at the table with Ashley are post takeover looking to take advantage of the cash strapped City Council by making a good offer for the ground along with redevelopment planning for posh apartments etc, nufc to ground share with Gateshead after the international stadium is redeveloped.

In 1973, it broke their hearts when we won the FA cup. In 1974 they, and the media, went out their way to try and trump it - only to lose 3-0 to Liverpool. Surely that was a far greater disaster to what they are bitching about now. However, that is an era they've blanked from their memories - oh and losing 6 on the trot.
Not to mention THE biggest derby game ever, when they resorted to invading the pitch to try and get the game abandoned. Every time you get involved in an argument with a mag, just bring this game up. Soon shuts them up

The way Bruce declined to strengthen his defence during the transfer window just goes to show his commitment to making NUFC the ‘entertainers’ - concentrate on the attack and score one more etc.
Surely the mag faithful should be praising this adherence to tradition?

That's depressingly familiar. So often he'd take off Murphy or whoever and bring on Carroll...

The mags situation is a bit like someone who has just won the jackpot lottery, but has lost the ticket so couldn't cash in on it.

It's the worst feeling in the world thinking you've got something, to then have it snatched away.

Yet you've spent nearly a decade posting on your rivals board.
