Northern trains

Does the saturday afternoon train at a few mins past five go all the way through to Whitby or is a change required at Boro?

Sound like youre in the train game there marra.
According to Trainpals website, it's 17.02 from Sunderland DIRECT to Whitby

Just got on at H/pool.
What a f***ing shambles.
The train is just two carriages and is rammed.
I doubt it'll be stopping at Seaham.

So they’ve let people on at hartlepool, seaton Carew and Billingham. Just not Stockton. Incredible.
Always only 2 carriages, and always the same problems. Someone on here the other day said it was 4 carriages on a Saturday, and I nearly pulled them up for it, as I've never know that. They do run 4 carriages on a Sunday though, when hardly anyone travels by train, I'm not joking. Apparently there is excess rolling stock on a Sunday so they hoy another couple of carriages on , even though probably one would suffice. Only in Britain ! definitely only in the North East :(
They have to stop to let people off

like at seaham

I have seen old women not being able to get off at Seaham because they literally couldn't squeeze past people to get off , and those going to the match holding cans of Fosters laughing about it as well. Some laughing matter, someone's grandma , mother or sister having to get off at Sunderland when they live at Seaham.

Yeah more rolling stock on a Sunday because there are less services, like you say vastly reduced numbers as well.

It’s embarrassing that pacers will still running about until the last year or so, but as they were only replaced in numbers, I think they should have kept some and rolled them out on a Saturday to couple to the existing units. Yes they are embarrassingly old but I’m sure people who would usually get turned away at Hartlepool, Seaham etc wouldn’t be bothered sitting on one.
