Worlds top stewards? They just select random ex-racers who are local to the race usually, hardly a top class stewarding academy or something producing themI wonder why he got the 10 second penalty then.

They had to punish someone as that is the new ethos in F1.In what way is punishing a black driver for no good reason a PR job?
He was lucky to get a ten second penalty imho.
Funny that eh? And I suppose the race director is just some bloke off the street who’s never seen a race in his life?Worlds top stewards? They just select random ex-racers who are local to the race usually, hardly a top class stewarding academy or something producing them

This is getting ridiculous from Red Bull now, to be hiring a lawyer for an incident that has been dealt with is verging on bringing the sport into disrepute. They had to punish someone as that is the new ethos in F1.
Verstappen was out and someone had to be held to account.
Hamilton 10 seconds was the obvious choice - even though it would have been a racing incident as little as 3 seasons ago
In another escalation from Red Bull, they've got themselves an ambulance chaser (it's in Dutch but your browser should offer a translation)

I think it’s only fair that his win doesn’t stand, he’s had his celebration on the podium but they should take the points off him. This is getting ridiculous from Red Bull now, to be hiring a lawyer for an incident that has been dealt with is verging on bringing the sport into disrepute.
Hopefully the FIA don't bend over for them yet again by going along with this farcical charade.

Verstappen came off a lot worse, he’s lucky he wasn’t killed. It was a 50/50. like in football the one that comes off better is punished. you've got half people saying the punishment wasn't enough, the other half saying it was too harsh. I really can't see how but that probably means it was right. People inventing new rules/calling for a race ban to punish Hamilton for it is a joke.
Max wasn't totally innocent in it. His punishment was he didn't finish the race. Hamilton's was a severe penalty he managed to win but it certainly wasn't a given that he would win. and we all know if the circumstances had been reversed (Hamilton 30+ points ahead and on the outside) he would have given much more room and realised that losing 7/8 points is better than not getting any. that is where max's immaturity comes into it.
My biggest problem with the penalty is that there was at least 3 instances of the same thing in Austria all were a 5 second penalty. Maybe consideration was given to those that the cars that suffered were still in the race. but no consideration seems to have been given to Hamilton for it being the opening lap which again happens regularly.
What’s the race director got to do with it?Funny that eh? And I suppose the race director is just some bloke off the street who’s never seen a race in his life?
It’s up to him to liaise with the director of the stewards. What’s the race director got to do with it?

This is some top banter right here, it really is.I think it’s only fair that his win doesn’t stand, he’s had his celebration on the podium but they should take the points off him.
It’s the f1 thread not the Hamilton fan clubThis thread has gone downhill since we got another WUM joining in. At least most have now put SBC on ignore.

Would you want every incident that involves the other car DNF’ing resulting in the driver being disqualified then? It’s the f1 thread not the Hamilton fan club
