SMB Tennis thread

It's really poor this. Otte's playing alright but isn't having to do much which is fortunate for him because he's not great. Murray looks fine for the most part with his movement if not a little slower, it's what he's doing with the ball that's the problem.

If he does get through this then I'm not sure his next round match against Shapo's going to be too pretty.

He’s obviously rusty as hell. His technique will come back over time i reckon, providing his body holds up.

He's always done it far too often, but why doesn't someone in Murray's camp slap him repeatedly until he stops the drop shots?

Another stupid drop shot costs him the game point
See, you lob it out. Not drop it out.

Gerrin!

Great fight 8-) played well for 10 minutes at the end of the fourth and then 10 minutes at the start of the fifth and realistically Otte can't deal with that. Good win in the end.

It's looked decent enough for the most part, just seemed to lose his head when he was up a set and a break and it all went wrong for whatever reason. Nerves maybe?

Like he said at the end when he plays more aggressively he ends up winning, same old Murray really I guess!

Murray win, 5 set epic under the lights - not sure I could have asked for a better day at Wimbledon (maybe to see Federer...).

Djokovic (I say this through gritted teeth) just looked awesome - 6 Unforced Errors for the match and Anderson was competitive and still didnt even get a break point chance. I dont see who stops him winning the title.

Also shout out to Katie Boulter who matched Sabalenka shot for shot the whole match.

Really impressed with the day and very grateful to the steward who gave my mrs (no) a ticket for Centre Court to join me for the last 2 sets for Murray (she had a ticket for court 1 and got to see Krygios)

Murrays movement was as good as it's been since his injury, I dont think he can physically get any better.

He has the same issue as Federer now in that they need to play games to get their technique and shot selection but both know if they play too many their bodies will break down.

I can see Murray coming back to Wimbledon next year, jury is still out on Federer for me.

Couldn't have asked for a better opponent than the one he's got today to get a bit of match practice. Federer as long as 1/5 to beat Gasquet in a Grand Slam before the start of the match! A little bit disrespectful to be honest

Just a walking bye when he plays one of the big three.

Hope Cam Norris knows the script on Saturday ;)
