Somebody got into my car...

Some little scrote broke into my car last night.

Zero damage but they have nicked my sunglasses and bag of haribo.

Without the first reply being 'you left the car open' how could they have got in? I'm 100% sure I didn't leave the car open.

How close to the car were your keys? My doors open when the key is in a given proximity and I use the handle.

If you believe what gets put on Facebook the little shites have got electronic devices that will open your car.

That's my thoughts - but why just take the glasses and not the car...I know it's easier to shift sunglasses.

About 8m.

The key's aren't proximity keys as that was my first thought.

Not the Haribos!!!

Aye. Four things gave it away.

1) I noticed the passenger door hadn't been closed properly when I went out this morning.
2) The storage bits between the seats had changed - all the stuff that was in the top had been moved to the bottom.
3) Glasses missing
4) Yesterday there was 3 bags of Haribo, Today there's only 2.

It’s an easy thing to do to forget to lock your car. It’s something that we tend to do automatically so there will be occasions where you assume you have and you haven’t. I’m a cop and there’s been times that I’ve gone out to my car and it’s already open. It can’t be crims always unlocking it so it has to be me with my sieve like memory that’s just forgotten.

I've come back to the car before and realised I haven't quite shut the door firmly enough, meaning the lock doesn't apply. Chancers just try door handles. If they're going to the length of using devices to get in, surely they'd take the car.

Car key/transmitters have a good range too. Mine sometimes unlocks if I accidentally press the button if I'm locking the house doors up for the night. The bloke's next door's boot is regularly up, when he hits the boot open button accidentally from inside his house
