Rightmove Voyeurism

Once you get to a certain size house you need to think about cleaners/gardeners surely.

Mates just bought a house in cleadon with a wassa garden. Nee way you could look after it yersel.
Friend bought a place a couple of years back with a big garden that had been well maintained. The last few years before he bought it the owner had let it get overgrown so he wanted it to be re-done once he moved In.

He had someone out to look at it and he wanted £3,000, just for the design drawings!

The previous of owner of my new digs said she liked the wild look. Cleared 2 skips out of the garden. Spent about similar in clearance and the canopy of the massive tree they left.

He was looking at north of £100k to get it done properly, and that didn't include getting the lawn tennis court upto standard 😁.😰 I think they've decided to leave it for a while!

IIRC there's quite a back story to Windlestone Hall including the Council selling it to developer who then marketed an investment scheme to turn it into a nursing home and a lot of people lost money
There imay be a current planning application to split the Hall into apartments and develop outbuildings on the estate. I also seem to recall that there were some self build plots proposed. Not sure if this passed planning.
I think the 28 acre grounds may relate to the Hall and whilst you may have access to them you may not own them.
It has potential to be a good development but time will tell.

Disclaimer All the above is from memory and may be complete bollocks

The property that’s for sale isn’t the hall, it’s another building which is part of the original estate. But I believe you are right there is some controversy surrounding the hall.

From 2019 (may have moved in since then of course):
Windlestone Hall still derelict despite millions invested

Another dodgy "en-suite". If you had a decent aim, you probably wouldn't even have to get out of bed for a wee 😂

This is quirky!
