Crowds Next Season

If we manage to get up and are in the Championship next season, what sort of crowds do you think we’d get? Assuming there were no restrictions of course, I reckon we could attract 35 - 40k for most games, with well over 40k for some of the bigger ones. There seems a genuine buzz and positivity about us at present; I would like to think there’ll be loads who can’t wait to get back to watching live games.

Be interesting to see if the last year has put anyone off attending games in future; there are bound to be some I suppose.
Promotion, good signings, good football and winning football would hopefully see 40,000 crowds .

They might feel like football doesn't represent them any more? Used to be a game for the the working man rather than Cockney Liberal Elites?
Football hasn't represented the working man for a few decades.
Speak for yourself, it’s their choice, our support isn’t as woke as you think, just wait and see. The boos will ring out if they are still doing it. I think people forget let summer when people were ripping down statues, defacing war memorials with the BLM letters and that everyone was racist if they didn’t agree and the police had to be defunded. They are the absolute knackers.
It's a 5 second gesture against racism. I don't think it achieves anything at all, but anybody that won't attend, or wishes to boo it, is an absolute knacker.
Most want it to be still going on when we go back so they can show exactly what they think about it.
As I said, absolute knackers. All clubs have them, and we've certainly got our fair share.

If you bring politics into football you should expect to find out what folk think about it.
This thread was about how crowds were going to be big because everyone is desperate to get back and support the lads.

It wasn't about politics at all until a couple of nut jobs said they'd not go back because they're too upset about kneeling. Why don't you and your mate do a protest outside as is your right. And everyone else can enjoy the football in the ground.

Kneeling is lacking dignity, that's an utter certainty.
I have no strong views on it but anyone who seems to be over critical of it comes across a little racist. If it upsets you that much just come into the ground at 3.01?

Imo, we will see a jump in crowds next season but not to the levels predicated on here. We have a lot of fair weather fans and it won’t take much for them to walk away again after the novelty of being back at football has worn off.

I think I would just be happy if I could just get a streaming pass season ticket From now on.

oh, and SAFC oldie is a biggot (see his previous contributions on other threads) so I’d treat anything he says with a pinch of salt

Agreed..a substantial number have disappeared since our Premier League days..They won't be back anytime soon...and that is no criticism of those who no longer attend, just a fact that, for the foreseeable future there will be plenty room for everyone who fancies going to the match....

Yep. Totally agree mate.

It will be interesting to see what KLD does about the Premier Concourse though. Although I don’t believe our average attendance will increase much, I wonder if he is tempted to open it up for SC sales? The middle sections would be quite popular and might tempt a few to come back?

When we were stopped from attending, I think I was ready for the break to be honest. But now I can’t wait to be back.

Looking positively, promotion, contract extensions, new signings, decent weather and good travellers should see 40k for the opening day.

Stay in L1, minimal transfer activity v Burton you're lookng 30k max.

I would like to say 30 to 35K, but I fear that cash will be very tight for a lot of people when this crap is over (if it ever will be!)
