Random England players of the 90s


Definitely and they had a lot of chances, I think their inner belief was lacking at the really top level but being fair to them, it coincided with some of the best Fast bowlers and Spin bowlers that there has been.

We never really had what you'd call a world class bowler either. Gough and Gus were as good as it got....
 
I’m not 100% about this but there was a test , I think in the 90s, where Bob Taylor took the gloves, having been working in a sponsors room earlier in the day. Someone got injured and he was asked to stand in

Sure it was 86. Bruce French was injured I think.

England’s main problem in the 90’s was that arseclown Illingworth.

Talking about hick and ramps facing. Ambrose, Walsh, McGrath, Warne, Pollock, Donald , Waqar and Wasim. That was a tasty era for bowlers
