i am not defending the indefensible, they made massive fuck ups and loads of financial mistakes, but lets be clear on this, although they fucked up CM brought this lot to the table did the deal, and he dragged SD along with him, SD tried to kick and scream, i can quote you lot this, i was there.
"cm said we fucked this up we try to put it right" i have quoted this before.
But lets not let the truth get in the way of a good slagging off.
I am in no way standing up for what SD has done its a load of crap to say the least.
CM has said he fucked up in anger and said sorry, i think its time to move on.
Ynar when Don King gans into the ring as part of the reigning champs entourage......then after the fight when the former reigning champs being helped back to his dressing room with his nose all ower his face and King is seen on camera ower his slumped bloodied shoulder leaping joyously around the ring alongside the other fellows camp, family n friends......

It never was a debate!

Here's a truncated version of how the conversation went:

Someone on PF: I read this thing in the news that SD has done this despicable thing.
Mob: BURN THE WITCH. SD IS THE DEVIL!
Me: Do you have a link to that?
SoPF: Why do you need a link? SD is the devil, stop defending him!
Me: I'm not defending him, I just want the link so that I can judge for myself.
Mob: BURN THE WITCH! FYL2U IS THE DEVIL! HE DEFENDS SD!

And here we are over a year later and the mob are still at it, linking my name every time there's a thread that's even remotely related to SD in any way and then all piling on top if I dare to reply to the post that links my name.

Just fuck off already. I'm no longer interested.
best thing we’ve heard on here since the takeover.
People didn't warm to him but he seemed to expose our marketing department as complacent and amateurish
People had been exposing that on here for nigh on 20 yrs.

great post BTW

Thank you for the insights.

Many many mistakes, but in the end the previous owners pulled a miracle out of the hat. Don't know if there are that many KLDs out there to solve the near impossible.

CM brought an arrogance and snide contempt to loyal Sunderland supporters looking down his nose at the peasants !
How some supporters can defend him in any shape or form beggars belief.
Agreed.
That’s the purple trousered way though. That’s what wearing those trousers means. I think that may have coloured his thinking with the no business knowledge rubbish. Most safc didn’t understand the significance of the trousers. They ARE a business statement and not a fashion choice.
I turned against him on here the night the colour of his trousers was mentioned. I got all sorts of abuse about only an idiot would judge someone on their trouser colour by the genuinely naive, uninformed or gullible who didn’t understand that Methven wants to be judged by his trouser colour. That’s why he wears them. They are a statement of who he is, where he comes from, what he believes in and how he’s gonna treat those around him.
He and others like him wear them for that reason. They arrogantly expect others to know that their stride choice signifies. In the offices and homes of central London, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, St Johns Wood, Chelsea, Fulham, South Kensington etc people understand and aren’t surprised by the attitudes of their wearers. Up north not so much...

😂🤣😂🤣

I dunno if you’re just completely taking the piss, but I actually agree 😂 it’s a bit like Peter Jones and his ridiculous socks on Dragons Den 😂 those sort of absurd “look at me” colours really do say something about the mindset of the wearer.

I kna chairman should be seen & not heard In football

but i like the the way the bairn taking control
I honestly don't think we will hear from him much now. It was the right thing to do the interview to address the fans but would imagine most future communication will quite rightly done through very well thought out and deliberate statements on the club website

I think he'll have to speak more directly to the fans on occasion if he is running the day-to-day, it's just good practice to keep a line of communication open. The idea of a podcast isn't a bad idea. I'd like to see him appear from time to time on our official podcast, where he can answer questions from fans in a more controlled environment than Donald's RR pods.

In fairness the young man will make mistakes but we all need to get behind the lad and support him.
But will he get pelters if the moaners on here dont like the fact he will not just give a blank chq and say get on with it ???
I bet KLD is very very careful who he spends a penny on or who with

he will not engage like SD did and he will be seen but not heard, he is doing an interview next week, lets see how that pans out 1st.

Which is sensible. Donald was way too open with the fans. What we need are regular, short, controlled appearances where fans can have reasonable questions answered. I can guarantee it will be used against him at some point if he doesn't, because it's what people expect as a minimum now.

He hinted in the interview communication will be via the existing liaison scheme, with minuted meetings with representatives of RAWA, the BLC and others. I wouldn't expect podcasts (except, maybe, with Frankie and Danny) or appearances at fan nights.

An official podcast, where the club could control the questions and answers, was what I was thinking. Definitely not a fans pod - that's not a good idea. Fans group meetings are a sensible idea too. I do think we need to see occasional engagement from someone who sits at boardroom level. As I said above, it's going to be used against them at some point if they don't do it.

Wouldn't it be enough to have Speakman to continue on the podcasts etc? Be KLD's voice.

In the most part, yes, but I think you do need communication from someone who sits on the board from time to time as well.

There's an EFL requirement to meet fans' representatives at least twice a season, and, if there is a Supporters Trust in existence (which RAWA will be if it's not already) they have to be included.

I'm honestly ok with him not being the person who engages with fans on behalf of the club. I think for the most part, it's very rare that good things come of stuff like that. More often it becomes a stick to beat them with. I'm all for fan engagement, just without him having to shoulder the burden of how to talk to us, having his every word scrutinised etc.

One of the things I thought Ellis Short got wrong was being too reactionary and quick to bow to what we wanted. Whether it be the manager or the signings, he seemed to make a lot of his decisions based on what we were agitating for.

I prefer someone with a good strategy, not someone who listens to us about how to run a football club, because the chances are we'll be wrong an awful lot of the time.

I hope he doesnt go down the SD CM route, dont think he will.In the old days you hardly heard anything from the chairman, other than to wish us all the best at Xmas.Anyway actions are whats needed now,not words.

Time to move on.
I don’t think any Sunderland Supporter could not be thinking right now that maybe our time has at long last come.
Looks exciting does this - you deserve some luck. This importantly could be sustainable.

The moral of the story:
“Beware of piss stained bastards bearing gifts.”

You are well and truly aligned with Swindon, we are proud of you.

He hasn't said sorry to me, or all the other Sunderland supporters he constantly slags off and creates a false narrative about to anyone who'll listen.
