New Music Releases Thread

Sadly yes, it was yesterday UK time. I found out within the last hour. Proper gutted as I have seen TMTCH live more than any other band.
Oh FFS. I think I've probably only seen Turner more. Between TMTCH and Liberty Cage I probably saw some form of them well into double figures during the 80s/90s. Last saw them in 2003 (Cherry Red Jukebox, I think), on a quick trip back to the UK, but I stayed up to date with them and kept getting their stuff. Enjoyed watching him posting his health care worker serenades on Instagram last year. That's really sad news.

I reckon that I must've seen them 20+ times and I've seen them more in about the last 8 years than back in the 80s/90s. I was wearing my TMTCH 30 'Shirt of Blue' T shirt on my walk today.

haha their gig up here is in Tyne Bank brewery so plenty of space and quality drink.

None of my mates listen to them so just need to try and convince my lass she absolutely hates them.
Go by yourself, I'd have been to about 5 gigs in my life if I was relying on the shite taste of mates. Our lass also despises them, finds them 'incredibly stressful'.

They're class like. Even if you aren't blown away by the album, go and see them live when you can, they're incredible.

Aye I’ve been to a few gigs by myself I don’t mind it at all. Just first gig back though I wanted to have company, it’ll be a big occasion! Luckily she’s agreed even though she describes them exactly the same as your lass.

I’m with @James on this. Solo gigs are great. I travel a fair bit with work to London so the majority of my gigs are on my Jack.
it’s class man, stand where you want, nobody waffling on n your ear and if you want to go down the front and go for it then absolutely not a problem.
I took the Mrs to a couple of gigs recently and never again.

That's the key thing for me. Go where you want to and go where you feel.No need to lug 3 pints across a crowded room (including people sitting on the floor who will blame you if you stand on them or trip on them or if you put a ninja star into their forehead accidentally on purpose).

The best nights out

(not Cush/TMTCH but I have a Swill shirt on today - odd coincidence)
I've tried to work it out and I reckon that I've seen TMTCH 13 times in the past 8 years. As for the 80s/90s, I really can't remember the numbers but have hazy memories of seeing them at Newcastle Riverside (quite a few times), Birmingham Powerhouse (probably a couple of times) and possibly Aston Uni (aka Triangle Arts Centre).

An impressive haul sir. I don’t know how many times - I’d have to really dredge as I was usually the worse for wear 😬. I don’t think I saw them in the midlands, even though I was in Cov for 4 years (saw the Alarm at the Powerhouse), but all over London, incl Powerhaus. Seemed like they were almost the house band at The Mean Fiddler. I was (laughably) at their farewell show at the T&C. Probably a highlight was when they all supported each other - Cush’s band Folkfinger on first, then Liberty Cage, then The Men headlining. Really miss those shows.

I've been to a few of the Christmas shows at Borderline in recent years which have been cracking nights in a really intimate venue with everyone up for a party. A mate who attended with me sent me a 30 second (ish) clip of Ironmasters last night which he took on his phone from Christmas 2014 and the moshpit of old blokes is crackers.

Gabriels due to release an EP in 4th December. Know little of them but quite enjoying this and hopefully a taste of what’s to come:

Sorry if seb
been getting a few plays on 6music this weekend, ep sounds good and i really like the ep's title track love and hate in a different time...

Just had that Black Country, New Road album on for the first time and there's bits of it that sound quite like American Football.

Not that there's been too much out this year so far but probably my favourite based off one listen.
