Yeah, enjoyed that on Film4 a while back.
Personally I’d have gone with the alternate ending though.
May as well have made it absolutely grim as fuck by that point.

The sequel is...different.
Gives away the writer director has a history in Anime.

that reminds me, this is on Netflix and really really good.
