Both shifts just line 1 we will prob make jukes all’s day tomorrowSeems a bit dodgy Furloughing for one shift, that said I'm line 2 so just bitter
Aye I don't fancy longterm furlough again but I'd still take it over banking hours.Depends how long it’s only 1 day upto now I’m on line 2 anyway won’t loose much 85% pay
The supply chain problem is a result of Covid, that's how they've put it anyway.Surely the furlough scheme isn’t designed for general business supply chain problems

Nissan closes Sunderland production line after pandemic hits supplies of parts
The company is closing a production line until Monday after the pandemic cause problems with supplies reaching the Sunderland plantwww.chroniclelive.co.uk
Soz for the mag source.
10% tariffs on imported components then another 10% tariff on the exported final product would never of been sustainable for a company with BIG money problems no matter how much offsetting is done.Radcliffe the great brexiteer didnt choose to France owa the UK for nowt.
Brexit: Nissan commits to keep making cars in Sunderland
The Japanese car maker has told the BBC its Sunderland plant is secure for the long term.www.bbc.co.uk
Excellent news.
There was a takeover or partial takeover but I don't know the details. Plans for a massive new battery plant in Blyth apparently but I don't know any details about that either.Didn't Nissan sell the majority of their battery business a few months back (they tried to sell it all to one outfit and then ended up selling to another, Envision Group IIRC)- I am sure they held onto 25% or so. As my kid brother works at the battery plant and my employer supplies the electrolyte for the batteries good news for both of us.

Posted in the politics forum before i saw this and it’s quite quiet. It’s the same on Reddit. Loads of people commenting on the furlough story and blaming brexit despite the company saying it’s covid related and the additional customs checks are “peanuts” but barely anyone talking about this good news. It’s really sad. There'll be some on here who will be absolutely furious at this
