Mike is he your mate likeOh aye, it was the nadir for fans, but the owner couldn't give a shiny shit about the cups so would never sack Bruce for that. I think it'll take us being 18th or 19th before Mike pulls the trigger.

Doubt we'd wait that long like. He's a bag of bollocks and all.If they got Pulis in it'd be a matter of days before #Pulisout!![]()
Tbf I'd be f***ing raging if we had himIf they got Pulis in it'd be a matter of days before #Pulisout!![]()
Injuries and being a moron has held him back a bit. Only started 3 games, played 315 minutes. Not played enough to really write him off just yet, for me.Has Fraser just been shit like
Didn't do much last season and him refusing to play near the end of the season says it all about his characterInjuries and being a moron has held him back a bit. Only started 3 games, played 315 minutes. Not played enough to really write him off just yet, for me.
.. Would be funny as fuckIf they got Pulis in it'd be a matter of days before #Pulisout!![]()
I dunno why he was not signing a new contract, which is why he didn't want to play. But yeah, it didn't reflect well on him at all. Won't write him off just yet (just like I won't write off Lewis).Didn't do much last season and him refusing to play near the end of the season says it all about his character
He basically achieved the same as Chris Hughton but has a much better pedigree and they're still quite fond of him too.Fake news.
Rafa was a glorious leader. He knew football. Great attacking football. All other football was a disaster (and Ashley's fault). No one knows that club like Rafa. Ask anyone (with a Newcastle shirt)
Personally I don't understand the Mags love for him.
He achieved no more or less than the majority of managers they had. But because they made such a fuss about him when he joined, no one dares admit that he isnt quite the manager they thought.
Rafa's past achievements and career are impressive, but they mean nothing with regards Newcastle. Yet still there are fans who want him back.
I'd have Hughton back too.He basically achieved the same as Chris Hughton but has a much better pedigree and they're still quite fond of him too.

Yes they're fond of him. But they never worshipped him in the way they do Rafa. Theyd have him back, but none of them are actively wanting him back of throwing his name around like some are with Wenger.
Why? Because Hughton's face doenst fit the imaginary profile they have of their club. Hughton is a decent manager. But thats not enough for Newcastle. They need a manager who has won things (at other clubs) who gives them some prestige.
Its the same reason that they were calling Longstaff, Shelvey and Lascelles were "England material". Not because they actually were, but because having an England player in your side puts you among the big clubs.
The sooner it dawns on them that they are a tip championship/bottom half Premier league team with a big ground the better. Because some of them are just making themselves look stupid now. Theres a fine line between passion and fantasy
I doubt Hughton would come back and work under Ashley, but the fact people would have him back negates your point about how he doesn't fit with our supposed imaginary profile.
He was well liked, and still is. He had no managerial pedigree before having the Newcastle job and has not exactly achieved great things elsewhere. Pretty mediocre really. But he would still be welcomed back.
Many Newcastle fans think Eddie Howe would be a good appointment, again it contradicts your imaginary profile comment.
Focussing on your thing about us wanting managers that have won stuff elsewhere, would most of the non-elite clubs not welcome a manager who has been very successful elsewhere? That's not exclusive to Newcastle. The fact they've won elsewhere shows they're a good manager. Capable at their job.
If Jose Mourinho and Neil Warnock were the two candiates for a job, which one do you think fans would get excited about?
