that & the "the besnard lakes are the dark horse" from 2006 make a good pair of complementary albums. went down to see them at a venue in chorlton manchester 2009 that in effect turned out to be not much more than a room above a pub (googled it - the dulicmer). was a great night. they had some stuff out in the early teens but don't remember them being much cop then?

mark radcliffe was playing them when he was doing the evening shift on radio 2 in the mid-00s (post mark'n'lard radio1).
