Winter 2020 cricket Aus, NZ, SA

Superb innings from Tim Paine under pressure. Dragged Australia back into the game. Can't help but think, though, that if India get 200+ the test match is theirs. They may still regret dropping all those straightforward catches, though. The Aussies could've been skittled out for at least 50 runs less if they'd been taken.

Aye I know but still

Than Pucovski won't make it as an international cricketer

something a matter with him with these concussions

not sure if he had so many that he is unwell, but never seen anything like it

not sure they should pick him
8 concussions already by 23 years old  looks a cracking player but only so many concussions you can legitimately take without permanent and devastating damage

that’s my point

there’s clearly an issue

I don’t mean him with the short ball

he’s getting a concussion everytime he gets hit

that’s not normal

plays get hit every game, it’s quite rare it leads to concussion

you can’t stick a lad like that in international cricket no matter his record

Just had a read about it, it’s mental how it seems to happen

Aye shouldn’t laugh but seems to follow him around. Does suggest he has a problem with short or back of a length stuff. Abbott must have shat himself mind when he hit him

it’s weird aye I’ve not heard a proper explanation yet by a medical expert either

I refuse to believe he’s just unlucky

he must be more prone to it for some reason

I remember Stoneman getting hit twice in an innings in the ashes, just off the top of my head (pardon the pun) no concussion there. Sure this lad would have been.

Im not sure it does
That’s not really the point I was making

most openers get hit, agree that the best ones rarely do, but others do get hit, but they don’t get concust every time

Aye true. Would have to actually watch a bit of him to get an idea of his technique

Could it just be that medics are more tuned in to concussion incidents these days? Perhaps they wouldn’t have been diagnosed 10-15 years ago?

possibly, but just never heard of a modern player with this problem

Just scored 2 double 100s in 2 innings too

Kohli already in alongside Agarwal. India in big trouble at 15 for 3. Cummins 3 fot 8 off 6 overs.

Edit - make that 15 for 4. Hazlewood chips in. Agarwal gone. Two catches for Tim Paine in the space of four balls.
-----
Edit edit. 15 for 5. Rahane gone. Hazlewood again. Caught by the captain again. Three wickets in the last 9 balls.
------
Edit edit edit : 19 for 6. Kohli caight in the gully off Cummins for 4.
-----
26 for 8. Hazlewood 4 for 3 from four overs. Feels just like the second day at Headingley last year.

Looks increasingly like 2nd place for the test championship will be between England and India then, assuming Australia go onto win the series now.
India actually would probably still have a good chance of winning this if they didn't fuck up in the field yesterday.
