Some lad flew out for the original test, and never left, works online, and has been living on the beach

Was very close to what I was gonna do in Thailand, the lad obviously has more bottle than me and isn't an idiot

Anyway he says he will finally leave after the test match, so I suspect he will be at the fort for up to 10 days

Yeah looks class, one day. Is there any schedule out for 2022 btw? I am thinking realistically that this is when that type of thing could take place
Not sure about other countries schedule but yeah realistically I think the WI 2022 tour will be the next possible one for us to go on

Not sure I’d fancy a test there mind. Wankhede packed with 40k in is a far better experience imo.

If vaccinations get rolled out en masse I can see the Aussies letting jabbed people in. 30k low risk tourists aren’t ones they’ll want to turn away.

Thing is Aussie and NZ already have a mass expat community, might just target them

Such a shame, the stadium full would be rocking.

Gujarat is a dry state like. Part of the pleasure of an overseas tour for me is a few beers in the ground while watching. Think I'd have swerved even if travel was allowed.

Woods in. Stokes must be taking a bit of compassionate leave/time away. Dunno why there's so many quicks mind given it's only two tests and it's hardly gonna be favourable for them.

So presumably this series *doesn't* count towards the Test Championship? Originally it did? I've not seen anything that confirms this either way.

Foakes to take over from Wood as player who gets ****ed about the most presumably. Annoying to see Moeen there, nearly as depressing as Bairstow. It's 15 months since Moeen played a FC match. He looks well past his best in the international matches. Moeen is a purely speculative selection, with no other serious spin options in the main squad you'd have to assume he's likely to play as 3 spinners is perfectly viable in Sri Lanka. Be interesting to see what lineup they go up with. If the pitches are like last time it seems pointless picking Broad or Anderson. Wood & Sam Curran would be enough and provide more value.

I know there are more spinners in the reserves. Pitches in Sri Lanka don't really tend to favour the slower spinners, more the flatter accurate types who get enough turn to be threatening, I guess we'll see them in some warm-ups anyway.

Yes, they're counting towards the test championship.

He will bat 3, Crawley to open

Lawrence 5

I’d have played Bairstow ahead of Burns anyway just for this series. 100 in the last test, makes sense

should not get as much abuse from the Ben Foakes lot now considering smith has made clear he’s not being considered as a wicket keeper

I have to admit I really don’t agree with Archer being allowed to play in the IPL for 2 months then miss a short tour to Sri Lanka

I have every sympathy with players in these bubbles but he chose to take the cash

He gets paid to sit on his arse, while Mark Wood, who by the way is quicker than archer, goes into another bubble despite being paid only a third of what archer does
