Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

After all this, it honestly wadn't surprise me if Storey is involved in some way.
He’s given Johnson a 97 retro top I think. Specific instructions to wear it non stop during the summer whilst he wonders around Sunderland necking energy drinks and tweeting how well the takeover is going.

Just been reading that Bristol City were very much a long ball team under Johnson (ffs). What I dont get is if the club had a plan/vision on how to take the club forward we'd be looking at the new manager to get his teams playing in a specific way.

Its seems the style of football choice number 1 would have instilled (poyet) couldn't be more different to that of choice number 2 (johnson). So where's the vision at the club?

Are things really changing? Feels like amateur hour is continuing to me.

They weren’t hoof it, at all. There’s a difference from being direct at times and just pumping a ball up the pitch.

:lol::lol:

Jim Rodwell is his boss, of course he had a say, he would have had a say in appointingthe sporting director in the first place :lol:

I'd think he would be Rodwell's boss and at worse, on the same level completing separate duties. Speakman - Football Operations (the important stuff)
Rodwell - Admin

The opposite. Ball on the ground, attacking football with a high aggressive press off the ball

I think thats wishful thinking like. Chief executive runs the club and business mate, everyone reports to him, apart from the owners. Thats what the title means.

thats not even the problem, it just shows Satori, Donald and CM's hands are everywhere at the club still.

Second most long balls in the championship is what I read. Mind, I'll admit to having no memory from watching them.

OK, that sounds better. Ignore me other message then. :lol:

Now who's spouting stuff that's untrue 😂

The press release says working alongside Rodwell. So Speakman doesn't report to Rodwell.

I take it you've never worked in business before like :lol::eek:

I don't even care, that fact hes still here means the 3 jokers will have a big influence

Not exactly a explanation around his style of play but Guardiola praised B
Johnson's Bristol for their football here;

A chief executive is just a title. The Dutys vary depending on how a specific organisation want their executive to act.

Quite simply. Your wrong 😂

It might be aye. But you know what I'm trying to look at this in an optimistic way. The appointment of an SpD shows a new direction from the club that, for me, couldn't be the vision of Donald and he certainly wouldn't be in a position to employ Speakman or Johnson.

I know it might be same old, same old, but I'm gonna look at it with optimism, a fresh start. If it looks like it's going tits up and its same old then I'll be disappointed but for now, optimism all the way.

Why would you announce a Sporting Director before an actual takeover? Doesn't make any sense.

I'm calling it now, there is no takeover.

I would guarantee you that if there wasn't, there would be no way Donald and Co would have the vision for an SpD or be able to afford Speakman in any capacity.

Takeover on the way

Donald hasn’t bee interested for months do people really think he’s now going our paying compensation packages and creating new roles at the club? People were fine to believe in a takeover when poyet was about to get the job but since he decided he didnt want to working under a sporting director, neither would pearson, it must mean nothing is happening

There’ll be a bit of jiggery pokery with the share allocation so that Donald can get a bit of dollar back and so he can step back from the show. I don’t think we should expect wholesale changes or a clean sweep at all.

My prediction is that we will have two very hands off overseas owners allowing Methven, Rodwell, Lowes and the new technical director to run the show whilst not particularly investing a great deal of cash.

I hope I’m wrong and as ever I’ll happily eat my words should things genuinely look like they’re starting to change (it didn’t when Donald took over and loads gave him et al plenty credit for very little).
