Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

Every manager has, at one time or another, never had a promotion on their CV, because they've not been at a club capable, for whatever reason, of getting promotion. I would say Johnson falls into that category. Even his best Bristol teams were playoff candidates at best.
Arbitrary bullshit like 'he's got experience of promotion' is how we end up with a squad of Max Powers and Tom Flanagans. The questions I want answering are 'does he play attacking football', 'does he develop players', 'does he trust youth' and 'does he affect the game positively via good game management'. From a distance Johnson always looked like a promising young manager. It seems that there are definite question marks against him from people who are closer to it. However, I'm a firm believer in getting the right structure in place and then allowing that structure to make an appointment based on those sort of criteria. If the new SpD has gone for Johnson at the end of a proper process I would hope that they liked what they heard on those types of subjects.

Smith took over before I was born, would you say he was welcomed as much as Grayson/Parkinson and potentially Johnson?

Sorry
Remember Smith getting the job, on way back from Wembley, been on school trip, stayed at Crystal palace athletic complex and went to watch England schoolboys v West Germany, vaguely remembered him for playing for Stoke but what a manager he turned out to be

I don't really know anything about him, never bothered my arse to study these shit leagues

But hell, I'm reading that he plays attacking football and boy could we do with some of that in our lives right now.

I've done a mindfulness course today so I'm totally zen about this now.
