Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

We’ve got about 10 first team squad players out of contract at the end of this season so a new manager gets to pick a new team virtually regardless of what league we are in next season.
Yes, but is limited to players (by and large) than can only be paid £1700 per week. That is not a transfer market that Poyet is used to or will want to play in.

Who’s going to buy them two players? The issue Sunderland have is if we sell players, because of the cap, the max enough another club can pay them is 2.5K a week.

They won’t take a pay cut of that level
Precisely the problem
Our new friends in Russia, Monaco, Switzerland and South America might find a way of "dealing" with the problem
There is a points system on imported labour. BREXIT.

Hope somebody from the championship wants a lick. Say can take them for a lower fee. I know, clutching at straws...

MASSIVE promotion bonuses
Would that be enough? I dont think it will personally. I suspect young players will go to where they can get the biggest guaranteed wage.

I also suspect we'll struggle to compete with other league 1 clubs in signing players as a lot will have more wiggle room in terms of reaching the cap limit.

I don't fancy these 2 and if it's Juan and the new lad making the decision, it makes no sense. For me, if we are indeed being led by those 2, I'd expect a left field appointment, probably a foreign coach new to England

To an extent but it offers the chance to recruit the best of the £1700 per week market. Football should have more performance related pay.
I think it promotes the evolution to de-facto feeder clubs. Premier League clubs can subsidise wages and retain the players license. Certain clubs may align themselves with a chosen feeder.

Thanks. I was wondering if there was scope for say sending Wyke to Ipswich or Grigg to Oxford to clear some room for new striking recruits but it doesn’t sound like much.
The new club would presumably have to include their percentage of the whole wage whereas he’s still only 1.7k for us. Doubt very much anyone would go for that even if we contributed the whole 1.7k so doubt there is any chance whatsoever of moving him on. Our only real option is not to name the proven useless players in the squad.

like someone said earlier, Sartori & French lad probably won’t even know who Cowley’s or Johnson are. That suggests its probably Rodwell involved which is worrying imo
Exactly, sure Sartori and Defryus are wanting to be hands on picking manager when they have ploughed millions in??
