First match I ever took a girlfriend to.....stood at the back of the Fulwell end.. even though we won 6-0 I hated every minute of it, I was 15/16, there with about 6 mates and my new girlfriend, we soon finished 😂

Staying on the Craig Russell theme....the mother of his kids cuts my wife and kids hair
Is she any good I need mine cut.

Hank they are almost certainly staying on in a vain attempt to recuperate their losses. I’m not sure how many millions Donald is in the red on Sunderland but selling now would crystallise his losses.

If he can get the cost base to a point the club is not losing money he can then take an annual dividend which is probably more than the interest his original capital outlay would have received in the bank.

The “take over” seems to be a mechanism to get extra working capital into the business because it continues to lose money and no other financing options are available but to dilute his ownership. That or administration and lose the lot.

Honesty, thinking pragmatically about it this is what is happening. It is not a takeover and plenty of people at close hand have said as much.

Madrox owed him just under £12m in July 2019. It may have increased since.

No doubt the owners will keep dragging out the same line until at least the end of the transfer window
They need to flannel/lie their way up to and through the jan window to keep their hands over their wallets and then they’ll breathe a sigh of relief and get back to Rodwell and someone like lambert managing till end of season

ED.....continued from this thread

Some are getting too obsessed with CM remaining.

The sporting director will be running everything that's important for us, performance, recruitment and team matters etc. That's the key appointment.
You miss the one thing that makes the world go around and the quickest way out of this mess if spent wisely, money. The team has gone backwards season after season and only an influx of better players and good management will make a difference. How that can work within the stupid rules now, I have no idea. It seems when it comes to preventing charlatans taking over with the sole intention of ruining a club the rules don't work.

Let's be honest, dreyfus and a sporting director probably don't have a clue who Cowley is. If he gets the job its proof that the same fools are running the show.

Takeover is being over-egged massively once again
That's probably true of Gus too, tbf.

so does anyone know then? or pure speculation?

why would gus be so far down the line and then find out he didn't fancy the structure? surely this would have been determined v v early?. given what a shambles our leadership always seem to be any potential gaffer would be asking (even if via an agent) what the crack is, so why was it deemed to be a done deal?

Thanks in advance all / any / none etc.

We can only speculate but clearly the club is hamstrung with this squad for 2 years with little scope to trade. Maybe he didn’t want to risk his reputation and does not need the money.

That much at least is true, It's very believable that he wasn't fully aware of the horrible problem of tweaking a squad with the idiotic rules in place.
