Family background, This is a family that's used to owning things. Sartori had the distraction of trying to be President - this lad has nothing else to do. This is his proving ground to see if he's his father's son.
Apart from them keeping 5% of Marseille?
I would have thought he has other stuff to do.
It’s also no coincidence just before he was sacked Poyet appears from thin air giving interviews saying how he’d love to come back etc clearly trying to gauge the feeling
Has he done any recently? Listened to a few but must have been 4/5 months ago.

Such an absolutely ridiculous post, not by you BTW, he will have sorts going on

Yeah, I wondered about that. Having said that, if the new owners really are that snowflakey that they would/wouldn't appoint a manager based on fan reaction then it would worry me

Fan reaction has to come into it imo. Nobody wanted Parkinson and it was always destined to fail. A popular appointment gives time and relieves initial pressure.

A popular appointment is really only useful if we do badly initially. Do well and you’ll be loved, even if you’re a neo- fascist mentalist. Parkinson, like Ross was master of his own demise. Both were very close to getting it right for at least some of their tenure but didn’t have the conviction or courage to take a bit more risk.

Fine margins but failure. Sorry like but Sunderland should win this league hands down not struggle to make the play offs.
Don't disagree, but it's not like we were 15th in the league, we were a hair's breadth away from Championship football

Can you imagine if he'd actually got us up? I doubt we'd have a point by now. Even worse than Wycombe
Do you genuinely believe people don’t want whatever deal this is to be absolutely successful for the club? People might have questions about it but everyone wants everything to be as successful as possible.
I think there a people out there who love to twist and love to moan about the club. We could be 5-0 up at home to Juve and some people would twist about the litter on the pitch

Same as anywhere that though, isn’t it. I actually moved seats first season in league one because the two blokes behind just whinged all game. The best whinge was ‘this is the worst 4-0 win I’ve ever seen’. However, deep down people like this will want us to do well. They’d have given up otherwise.

Yeah, I would agree with that, but there is always an overriding emotion with some fans that they come to the match to have a moan, or they go on social media to have a moan. Maybe it's a distraction from other things in their lives. Who knows?

One of my mag-cousins was moaning to me at the weekend about Steve Bruce - I countered by reminding him that they were (at the time) 10th in the PL. His response was "Aye, only because there are 10 worse teams than us"

Isn't that how leagues work?

Apologies if I'm wrong, but I thought you were one of the ones who were adamant nothing was heppening regarding a takeover not that long ago? I doff my cap if I'm wrong but I just remember loads saying "nothings happening, over and over.

You are wrong yeah mate, but I'm not surprised you believe it, because someone over there says it every 5mins in the hope it will catch on and people will focus on that and not what I really said!

For clarity:

I said in May I thought a takeover at that point, when football wasn't being played, was unlikely. This was in direct reference to the club telling us they expected something to happen in May.

I also have said consistently that I did not personally think FPP would be the majority shareholders in any deal, or that Furhman would be the lead investor in a takeover.

That's it. I don’t think either of those things will be wrong in the end, but regardless, I'll leave it to your imagination to guess why someone over there would rather have you believe that I've said something else. In fact, I've said plenty of times since August that I think that something is happening now. What that is, I don't know, but I haven't changed my opinion on FPP. I still don't think they'll be our majority owners and I doubt they'll ever take a shareholding in us.

And that should be enough. I've self imposed a ban on reading over there even though prehab's info is decent, because honestly I don't want to read the bullshit written about me, or even worse, see how many people have been conned into believing it.

KTF. I believe this is happening, whatever it looks like we'll be able to see within the next month or so.

This is bang on. I may disagree with them this time, but I understand why some people default to 'nothing is happening'. It's not exactly an unfair assumption when dealing with PR 'guru' Charlie Methven and serial liar Stewart Donald. I'm sure something is happening this time, but only because there's more external info coming out.

I wasn't necessarily talking about Sunderland supporters.
