Still a c*** in my eyes, and trying to make up for it. What he has done before was dangerous, and the multi 28 thing on webber showing how selfish he is/was. So i will never come round, understand why some have mind

"Multi 21, Seb".

He's definitely a bit of a prick as a driver, but then Hamilton has been too as have all the greats.

The likes of Max is more of a prick as a driver and as a person but seems to be loved.

Good to see Toto up for the constructors for a change.
Very much been their project from the start, other drivers come and go, but I reckon this was the plan from the start and they’ve only gone and managed it. Hard to remember now some of the reactions and piss taking Lewis got when he announced he was signing for Merc back in the day.

I can remember thinking he was mad going to Mercedes and leaving McLaren!

Shows what I know.
Hmmm not sure about taking the mask off mind.

This, even Senna (who a lot of people still hero worship and who gave loads to charity) was an absolute s***house on the track from time to time.

Has Hamilton? He's one of the fairest racers I've ever watched. He raced Rosberg pretty hard that year, and him and Massa kept hitting each other back in the day, but he's never been much of a prick as a driver like Max or Seb...

Well I did make it back in time for what I thought was the start time but it was an hour too late.

What a race. Incredible drive by a number of drivers especially lewis. When the haters start saying he isn't anywhere near the best F1 driver just look at that result he lapped someone driving the same car man.

Lewis often races hard, but he never really does obviously "shithousery" stuff. Like remember that time Rosberg simply didn't turn in and straightlined right to the far side kerb?

The times he's been penalised when he's been on the racing line, and absolutely not doing anything to force anyone off the track has really annoyed me. 18 months ago they said they were going to reduce the penalties and "let them race". Unless its Lewis, and if anyone spins off anywhere near him, its *always* his fault. I'm sure they do it "cos he always wins".

Yes, Austria wasn't it, same corner as Albon chopped him up from the other side. That was blatant cheating from Rosberg. I don't mind him now as he's a very engaging pundit, but on track he needed to pull everything out to beat Lewis and was shameless about it. I also think he clipped him on purpose at Spa at Les Combes when failing to overtake, cutting his tyre, same year I think

The beyond the grid podcast with Toto he explains what the relationship was like behind the scenes and he basically said they way they both acted made it incredibly hard for the team to function as they wanted to. The difference was Hamilton left it all off track. Apart from in 2016 when rosberg was winning and Lewis was trying to back roseberg up into the Ferrari's(I think) so he would drop back.

His comments about wanting to help Mercedes and F1 with sustainability and other stuff says he's probably going to be here at least next year.

I really hope he is F1 will lose a massive selling point if he does leave.

Anyone thinking Max would be an equal to Lewis if they had the same car needs to watch this race over and over again.

The epitome of holding your nerve, running the race through in your head before committing to any rash moves. The lad is a very worthy champion.

Max is undoubtedly a very talented driver and will definitely have his day but is still on a very steep learning curve in being a strategic race day driver.

That race in 2016 was the last race of the season and Lewis needed to win by 8 points. Wasn’t “shithousery” at all by Lewis that day, was the only option, and every single driver would have done the same

Its a totally different game between being the person who's expected to win, and the person who is chasing. Been this way for a few years now.
Max has never had a top car, so nobody knows exactly how he'd handle it. Consistency is so important, and you don't measure that so much in Max's current position.

Yes he specifically mentioned Mercedes, I don't think it was ever in doubt and I think there'll be an announcement this week or so.

I do think he pushes it a bit when he claims to have "been with this team since I was 13", when yes McLaren used Mercedes engines but it was McLaren and Ron that developed him first and he kinda silverwashes over it!

Absolutely, I meant that was the closest thing I could think of. I've no doubt any driver past present and future would do exactly the same.
