I think we are starting to lose track of what the suggested position would be. It would be for Sporting Director and not manager

That's why i think it wouldn't be the worst appointment. His footballing contacts and nous would be invaluable. Just my opinion.

I dont think SM football knowledge has ever been in doubt. Hes spoken of really highly by players as a coach. I think as a manager is where he comes unstuck. Im saying that and he's still achieved as a manager, but i definitely wouldn't want him in that role. I couldn't take him seriously as a manager, i perceive him to be a bit david brent. Could he be decent as a DoF? Possibly yes.

Edit, nah thinking about it i wouldnt want him. Need a totally fresh approach. Theres better out there.

I'm telling you now mate, he would not be a good appointment. His time at Boro counts for nothing. It would be a bad move and I'd be concerned from the off if we're looking to move forward by appointing a manager that was past it years ago in a senior capacity at the club having never performed the role sucessfully before.

Yes I know, a position I believe he's never held? He hardly comes across great in interviews does he? He lives in Teesside, a job like this would suit him more than it would suit us imo. Much like signing Danny Graham who wanted to return back to the North East and focus on his clothing brand...

No mate, usually I call it right as do many on here. It's probably about time the club started listening to the fans that challenge their selections as opposed to appeasing the fans that look for a positive out of anything until it dawns on them that it was a bad decision all along...

L'Equipe saying it's down to 4 candidates to get the role as sporting director at the club. New people have been interviewing and the new sporting director will be English or Scandanavian. My guess is Steve Mclaren will rock up here.
