Aye sounds just like us so surely we want him nowhere near?2 basket case clubs. Turnover of players there have been ridiculous, no continuity. Loads of other managers have failed there...sound familiar??
That's why i think it wouldn't be the worst appointment. His footballing contacts and nous would be invaluable. Just my opinion.I think we are starting to lose track of what the suggested position would be. It would be for Sporting Director and not manager
Can they not help implement a better scouting system with British players too? Like Brentford do...
This is as a Sporting Director not a manager.Aye sounds just like us so surely we want him nowhere near?
I dont think SM football knowledge has ever been in doubt. Hes spoken of really highly by players as a coach. I think as a manager is where he comes unstuck. Im saying that and he's still achieved as a manager, but i definitely wouldn't want him in that role. I couldn't take him seriously as a manager, i perceive him to be a bit david brent. Could he be decent as a DoF? Possibly yes.

Maybe, but something we won’t know and only guess at as it stands. On the other hand I would be surprised if he hasnt built up some decent contacts during hit time outYes I know, a position I believe he's never held? He hardly comes across great in interviews does he? He lives in Teesside, a job like this would suit him more than it would suit us imo. Much like signing Danny Graham who wanted to return back to the North East and focus on his clothing brand...
We'll employ a Parky fan.
Its Ralf.
Ah right, what experience has he got as a sporting director like? This is as a Sporting Director not a manager.
I wouldn't be against him as a sporting director for the reasons i posted earlier. Not the first name that i would personally go for but nowhere near the last.I'm telling you now mate, he would not be a good appointment. His time at Boro counts for nothing. It would be a bad move and I'd be concerned from the off if we're looking to move forward by appointing a manager that was past it years ago in a senior capacity at the club having never performed the role sucessfully before.

ShteeeveL'Equipe saying it's down to 4 candidates to get the role as sporting director at the club. New people have been interviewing and the new sporting director will be English or Scandanavian. My guess is Steve Mclaren will rock up here.
They also say the same consortium are looking to buy River Plate. We'll be small fry by comparison?
