There is always a chance. But its unlikely whilst the owner thinks he has more to gain by keeping the club solvent and can afford to do so.

Or the people who loaned him 10 million quid decide what to do with it if he defaults on that.
 

The chairman position is just not in any way important to the club. It confers very little influence or power on the person who holds it and is largely ceremonial under the current dynamic.

I don't read anything either way into the decision/non-decision on that front.

I agree, and the CEO should be the person doing the day to day running of the club. But SD made quite a big thing of the fact he was stepping down as Chairman. Obviously if he thought it was important that would now leave a vacuum.

Yeah, my thought is that the chairmanship was largely a red herring thrown to us as a 'you win' gesture because he fucked up that week with RAWA/Barnes.

I think he's just in a moment of inertia. Every move he makes will be second-guessed, so he's just sitting tight until things develop.

Aye and in the club statement it said a new chairman would be appointed at the next board meeting. Sure that was in July

Dont think so as apparently he pm'd people to say it had been filled - see post #2,655 although I am realising the main issue with Bob is that his language is always ambiguous, whether that is deliberate or not I don't know.

And as much as it would disappoint me I think Bob is right in the case of the takeover.
