The big issue is going to be distributing it not safety, inoculating 70 million people is not going to happen overnight, a lot of red tape will have to be cut and even then a lot of people will claim it’s not been done right

We are planning for flu season and the biggest issue we are having is administering a vaccine and following workplace Covid rules

Normally we would fit 3 appointments in a 10 minute slot and jab them then get them to wait in the waiting room for 10 minutes. Now we have to get them in a room, jab them leave them in the room for 10 minutes for a check on any reaction then when they leave fully clean the room. All whilst making sure they dont get within 6 foot of any other people

Usually around 25% of the population would get the flu vaccine. Once we get a Covid vaccine its going to be a f***ing nightmare organising how to give it

There will never be a 100% effective ronavaccine in the lifetime of anyone on this board.
I doubt that there will be an effective vaccine for this ever.!!!

Due for mine in a couple of weeks so don’t know what system my gp practice has in place but I’d of thought some sort of drive thru facility would be the most sensible approach

Will take months and just like flu vaccine not everyone will take it. My child doesnt get it as my ex doesnt allow it. How long will it give you immunity for? will it be yearly?

I think it's unlikely so I'll happily take that bet. I think the pressure to drive candidates through means the usual 50% chance is more like 30%, and that's at all let alone delivery this year. We'll see

I actually found out today that the company I work for should have people in the room when the Oxford Phase 3 trial results are first presented to clinicians for comment. Maybe I'll be there, which would be slightly nerve wracking.

We need an update if you are there like 😂

i don’t think any vaccine is 100% effective

weird bloke you mind

I disagree. I think there is a good chance we have a vaccine available to vulnerable groups and frontline workers by Christmas, based on the way other countries are planning to deliver one.

The Astra Zeneca/Oxford vaccine does exist, people are being given it, it just is not available for use outside of that trial.

Has there been any indication of roll out time or where it will go first?

We will not release any vaccine that is potentially unsafe - other countries might
The UK won’t

No one knows but it could be a never ending cycle of vaccinations all year. Will be a nightmare to organise
by the time they have done everyone who needs it first it will probably time to start again..and like flu vaccine will they need to try and create a new one each year?
