Can you explain why the movement only seems to focus on selective instances? In particular they only highlight how black lives matter when they have been killed by white people.

For example slavery still exists today, Black people are selling other black people in africa and the movement doesn't seem to focus on that. Black kids are stabbing each other in london & there has been no mention of that.

All black lives should matter not just the ones lost too the white man.

Two years into his pro career. Didn't bother when there was a black president, suddenly got interested when there was a white one.

His black father fucked off and his white mother put him up for adoption. I'm sure there's no weird psychological baggage driving what he did.

Sure. I’ll have a go.

It’s a slogan. In a similar way to “hands, face, space”. It’s not there to explain all the details, it’s there to be understandable. And to the point

they’re picking and choosing (as you put it) in much the same way that we all do in all of our lives. McMillan Cancer Relief focuses on cancer. We don’t slate them for not fighting malaria. Equally, if you look at their website (such that is), it highlights the following. Including the bit in bold.
“We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities.

We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people”

I don’t deny they’ve shot themselves in the foot. But this is a loose band of people, not a political party.
